stuart thompson should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What a great couple of races, good to see someone finally putting it to Mercedes GT3 dominance this year.

This was a pretty good race weekend. Goes to show that P2/P3 can make a race by themselves, which says that them having a grid to themselves can work. ELMS and AsLMS can work as a mainstay championship while LMH/LMDh can be the headliner at IMSA and WEC races. All we need is a 24 hour race in the Asian/Pacific region, and we would have total package.

The P2/P3 can run a majority class series involving ample entries from all continents, and not lose out. It's worth a shot.

Will there be any takers?

At the moment only the Porsche is available for privateers and if Jota is going to Cadillac two porsches are up for sale - imagine Proton might get one leaving just 1 available.
Also they say teams from Asia like to be associated with brands - however in the current ME format of the calendar there are not that many teams from Asia taking part. Majority are European teams preparing for the season ahead

AF Corse's 'privateer' Ferrari first and foremost - the Middle East is a key market for the Italian luxury brand. Likely to go up against a Proton Porsche - or two maybe. That will probably be it.

Yeah, I think we would see one or two "privateer" 499s and then whatever 963s are around. Doubtful Caddy or Acura would sell any, possibly Lamborghini selling a car but not like there's gonna be a flood of cars over to AsLMS. It feels to me like they know they're gonna have to boot privateer cars from WEC for factory cars and want them to have another place to pay to race, for 3 weekends within 90 days if I recall right

Then again, Toyota running two of their GRs in either Tom's or Castrol colours, or the Acura(Honda) ARX in JGT team outfit. And what a way for Nissan to make a proper entry, with the GT-R engine, in a LMH/Dh design. We've seen some interesting designs in GT 500, this will take it to the next level.

It's a winter series so the regular WEC cars could be entered.
