Grand Touring Prototype... not too bad, and has a connection to the past when they had multiple chassis and engines from many manufacturers.
Not to mention that these will be running in both series. |

Not a bad looking rendition of a car. |

I really like it. Best looking of the new prototypes so far imo.

Definitely wouldn't look out of place in a 90s GT series

porsche has now tested with the spec hybrid unit.
https://racer.com/2022/03/14/porsche...prototype-ers/ pretty low on the details, but it appears to have gone well |

Couldn't think of a better marque to first test it. If it's a trouble free run, that's a good start

Now we see the real reason for keeping panoz out!
And we already knew Nissan doesn't care about imsa, or their own front engine race program |

6.4.6 At least one proximity sensor is mandatory to forbid the start of the ICE or any powering electric motor while the coupling is connected to the car.
Guess we're going back to the engine off refueling? Wonder if they'll expand that to other classes as well? And for a certain member here who loves the GTs with the fabric tow eyes 14.12 Towing eyes --must be rigid, made from steel... |

Gave a quick eye, maybe I'll read it better some time later in future but it seems most of undercar aero design is basically mandatory/spec. Same kind of torque/power curve used for LMH and strange managment of hybrid boost, 30KW only for LM and daytona, 50KW for other circuits. Mandatory 7 speeds gearbox.

Looks like some teams will need some really good technical brains to help digest the rule book

Well, now that we've seen both the Acura and cadillac GTPs (LMDh), this should have us "all a twitter" for the rest of them(BMW, Porsche, Lamborghini, et al).

In an article on Road and Track about the new Caddy engine they had this info on engine regulations that I hadn't seen before:

Any idea how loud the cars are currently? is that 110 decibels similar or a reduction? |
