I was happy to try for a place because I've done a few events at Silverstone, but not sure that I'd go for Donny next year as I've not been there yet. I may not get around to showing my face this season either - just so much local stuff to try and support to say "thanks" for the help and encouragement last year.

The biggest "plus" that I can anticipate this year is that, with such a huge pool to select from, the last Silverstone GP (for a while) ought to be a real show piece of British marshaling at it's very best.

The first criteria was if you had not done it before you would not be selected. Then I guess they had some others (unknown) to reduce the number further.

I know of at least 1 marshal who is going to be doing their 1st GP.
So that was the first criteria broken.

At least there is some other good meeting to go & play with that weekend.

Personally I'm 80% going to Snetterton to play with the BSB.

But I might still use the generous offers of guest ticket yet.

Well done to everyone that got accepted, make sure you enjoy & play safe.

Just spotted something on the invitation letter, it says the usual about getting wristbands which are not for resale and traceable to the official etc. etc. but it says "Each official will receive 2 wristbands (their bold) for the duration of the event, one for them and one for their guest.

I'm not sure what last years letter said but this sounds like a change from one wristband for the official and three (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) for the guest. I always thought it must have been a lot of extra hassle for them to produce three separate guest bands rather than just one. It's not an issue for me but it might be something for someone to check if it is relevant to you.

Thats a point, if you have someone for just Sat and another guest for raceday, you wont be able use the same wristband.
To me its no problem, but for others it might.

I won't ask what you're up to there, but I have noted your avatar.

I'm doing rally training in a couple of weeks. I don't think I'd really want to do any of that before I'd done training.
