Also, the good thing is that you can organize a race in mid-european winter, with the tropical climate over there. Tourismindustrie is quite evolved over there, with some luxurious resorts nearby. Probably the reason they put the track where it is.
Nevertheless, it was just an idea, that might be possible, nothing more.
Might not be a successful event but the track (Potrero de los Funes) is absolutely nuts.

<-- yes, it is a lake!

woah!! that looks like its going to be one hell of a race track i cant wait to see some MC12's, DBR9's, F430's and 911's etc blasting round there, although with how close it is to the lake, might help avoiding taking a dip in the drink

Not just a lake- if I understand this correctly, it's the crater from an extinct (at least I hope it is... ) volcano.....

More pics- is it me, or is there just a vague hint of Bathurst about it? (check that 4th photo down.... )

looks quite fun

albeit rather a long way off topic

So with that idea GT4 will then become GT3, can't see that happening

please dont, F1 would ruin this track and have it shut down immediatly, and i concur with KA it does have a whiff of bathurst about it as well, predominatnly though it reminds me though for some reason of those old road tracks like the targa florio and mille miglia in some parts, utterly fabulous, finally a new race track were the person making it has a brain and we dont have a horrid tilke ring

F1 better stay away from this track, it looks very promesing and the last thing we want if FIA to ruin yet another great sportscar track. I'm really looking forward to this race, hopefully most teams will get there too and we'll have a bigger feild then last time at Bucharest.

FIA GT4? Don't know but in British GT GT4 cars go up to two hours.

GT4-spec machinery is eligible for Britcar Division 2 and a fair few of them have run in the Britcar 24.
