Cars are back on track today. I don't expect anyone to go faster than they did this weekend, but lots of cars probably still want to turn a lot of laps. Ferrari will want to make sure their new chassis is sorted, and the privateers will want to attempt to get dialed in.

Cadillac already has an ideal lap of 1:47.8 from the best sector times.

I'd sandbag all year long until june 10, a la ford gt. Use Sebring as a test. Throw away portimao and spa. Win 24.

I just set up a race thread guys. A brave new world for WEC deserves a proper thread - https://tentenths.com/forum/showthre...17#post4147217

They seem very set on this fixed BoP idea. Great news if they have got it right.

Long interview on RS1 during the race talking about the BOP process. Interesting that the balance is of potential performance rather than actual performance. And it's up to the teams to reach that hypothetical max performance. It seems Toyota is much closer to this potential max than the others. Will anyone catch them come June?

It was pretty good. Well done them. It ain’t easy.
And I’m understanding the fixed bop thing more too. pach233 that is a nice summary. Only criticism I have is the dedicated sportscar media. They’ve done a really poor job in getting this across before the season. Both for WEC and IMSA. I hope that RLM interview is the start of understanding… |

Ferrari made a lot of small mistakes which compounded into losing a lot of time. They and Porsche will catch up pretty quickly. |

But for those that read and listen to the specialist media do. And you'd think those who are the specialist media would want to know for their own interest. Although I didn't go out of my way to find out. I did for the beginning of hypercar and how the energy and pitstop energy stuff worked. And a little for BoP then, or at least the homologation bit. Not really since though. |

Thoughts that came up to me during this weekend's racing
Are LMDh at a disadvantage when it comes to tire wear and corner exit traction because their hybrids deploys on the rear tyres whilst for Hypercar is on the front axle? It is only early days but this might become a bit of an issue that is difficult to sort out moving forward when it comes to equivalency |
