Of course the chance of MS improving by more than Nico is heavily weighted in Michaels favour given the gaps in his performance are greater, but I still believe Rosberg will be the better (faster and more reliable) performer by season end. |

Sniff Petrol
As usual, the boys at www.sniffpetrol.com have their comment about this.

I agree. Brawn smartly hired MS so Nico would have a safe 2nd driver without the potential dangers of a mildly competitive Barrichello (like last season). Ross always prefers a clear number one driver to get focused at.
Even more, MS is great for the media and for Merc's boys. Ross is a genius. (I'll readily change all my principles if facts prove otherwise , I just want to be in the sunny side of an argument [No, I'm not a lawyer] ) |

Schumi to get longer wheelbase car.
Apparently the cars weight distribution is not right....well, not on Schumi's car anyway. It is something that became obvious to the team in pre-season testing, so maybe Schumi will be back on the pace before we know it. http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/formula-1-...car-for-spain/ |

2) The F310 from 1996 was a true pig of a car, yet he still won races in it and stuck it on pole. Irvine has been quoted as saying he knows how bad that car was. Schumi was unbelievable in changeable conditions. I well remember Suzuka 2000, when he trailed Hakkinen but as soon as light rain fell, he was quicker. A pattern repeated many times over the years. Irrespective of current car and regs, it's strange to see him struggle the way he is. 2005 he had tyres that just would not last a GP distance competitively, (he couldn't compete with Michelin shod cars) yet still was ahead of Barrichello |

So he has nowhere to hide now.
If Nico is still quicker, it's because he's quicker, plain and simple! |

Spot on. I have a feeling Nico will still be faster.

Well, if Nico remains quicker, then Michael is slower than he used to be, because however good Rosberg is, he's nowhere near Schumacher at his peak.

Maybe not, but then, other things have changed too. Michael has a team mate allowed to race him, a team that isn't centered entirely around him, a team that isn't the best out there and more than one "main" competitor. All of which contributed to his phenomenal success.

All teams evolve and revolve around the strongest driver. Senna proved that years ago at Mclaren, Alonso you see doing that at Ferrari. Schumacher at Ferrari was employed by the team to sort the team out and win races and championships. Irvine and RB were employed because Ferrari had to field a second car basically. They paid for the best and expected results. I'd suggest that between 1996 and 2000 Ferrrari were not the best team out there. Much of this must be credited to MS, as well as Brawn, Byrne and Todt. Schumi would have identified areas to improve. Sadly, it's not Schumi's fault he was born in his generation. I don't personally consider Hakkinen a main competitor. He was lucky to be in a Newey car. Actually thinking about it, Newey was his main competitor.Yes. Sadly some people see this success as compatible with greatness. |

Same here. But, like Born Racer, I think that it will be because TGF is slower than he was a few years ago, not because Rosberg is an outright better driver. F1 has moved on, though, and I'm not sure TGF can keep up with it now.
