How do they decide the team numbers?

The Courtney merry-go-round continues. If this happens, would Boost get 2 RECs and take across Stanaway? I hope GRM can find a sponsor for 2020.

Hearing Mostert is looking at the other seat with Boost Racing. So much for his move to WAU been done and dusted.

I LOVE the Merry Go Round Season before the old season ends.
Times are a changin. I hope Garry can find a sponsor, maybe if they didnt shaft Garth he may still have had some decent results onboard. Might come back to bite him and his team in the butt !!! |

4 and a bit months to the start of the 2020 season.
New team out of Sydney. If it's true. Recs Workshop? Crew? Cars? Engines? Spares? Drivers? Don't they have to be young and hip? etc, etc. and then make sure your more competitive than GRM.... At least the naming rights sponsor is nailed down. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk |

Team Boost sounds like the new Team WPS! A bucket of dollars, and some hopes and dreams are all you need to start a V8 Supercar team, right?
Oh, and some old race cars too -- I wonder where they will come from? 2 x 888 ZBs would perhaps be the most readily available. Seasoned Altimas might be going cheap too... Why not simply plug Mr. Mostert and Mr. Courtney into GRM, with the engineering wizard Richard Holloway? With a few dollars spent on fabricating go-fast suspension bits, the racers should be up the front in no-time.... Especially with control shocks rumoured for 2020, which will reduce the number of things to develop. Oldies with hip hairstyles are apparently suitable. Real hep and happening beatnik sorts, proper hepcats. Last edited by V8 Fireworks; 5 Sep 2019 at 14:56. |

But then, Team 18 could tie up with Tekno, form the 2 car team everyone keeps saying that's happening, and Boost sponsors the whole lot. But then JC and MW are at the tail end of their career's, so that wouldn't align with Boost philosophy as we saw with GT getting shafted. Boost should have kept GT, and maybe assessed the Stanaway and Golding against each other. Even starting a new team, you need a senior hand to help with the development direction of the car. |

So what of Kelly's in 2020? Todd suggests they could run the Mustang or keep the Nissan, but has ruled out the Holden. Apparently it comes down to engines...

More likely Garry Rogers will sell all to Adderton who will set up near SMP with GRM to concentrate on TCR Nd S5000.

Mind you wonder how slow a Kelly Krate Mustang could be. I'd reckon there's pilots in KR machines that are as good as Lee & Will, for sure. |

AA suggests this week that the Mustang is the KR preference is for a Ford package because there are multiple sources of parts supply, despite years of experience with Chev powerplants...

lets not let the facts get in the way of this fiction. Money talks, if it wasnt for Boost dollars GRM might not have even made the grid so sadly for Garth he had to be let go.

Also probably not worth reinventing the wheel on engines at the moment, if the category throws the current power levels in the bin. Lease some engines for a year, see what they decide with 2021 regs. Seems a pretty easy way to limp through 2020 somewhat cheaply and then see what the landscape provides. The experience with the Chev powerplant is in contrast with the panel production capabilities - they may also have it in house, but they'd be locked into the RD money pit of buying ZB panels, for what is essentially knowledge five years out of date. |

Why run a team out of Sydney? That means testing at SMP by yourself instead of sharing the cost with the other VIC or QLD teams.
