Nice pictures of some very ugly car, Peter, I really can not like things that look so far from 'Sports cars'. The Astons, etc. are not too bad, but look like an overloaded market stall.
They may be fast, but .............................. |

I tend to agree in so far as the hypercars are plug ugly as road cars but they make excellent racers. As to the GTs, they've all become vast compared to their roots.

Concerning peoples' views about modern day cars, I would imagine that similar comments were made in the 40s from lovers of the cars from the 30s, and so on through the decades. In reality, as far as size is concerned, surely cars have been getting bigger for decades.

PERSONALLY the'50's produced the best looking sports cars, then came Chapman etc. I know Chapman raced in the 50's, but his malign influence really bloomed once designers started to put the engines in the boot. Luddite and proud. |

I was going to say the same, but Bob has since added plenty. Ta.
However I thought it needed an Aussie themed Bentley pic. Not my photo but is my desktop image on my PC. From the 2020 Bathurst 12 hour when Bentley won, overcoming local wildlife in the process. Quite an extraordinary event, with a numbers of 'roos interrupting the race which had to be red-flagged whilst they cleared the 'roos out of harms way. Short video here. https://youtu.be/6Rb2SOLHg9M Its a common occurrence at Bathurst. |

I do remember this one, when the 'roo was blue flagged and didn't obei. Unfair battle because the poor animal is only 2LD (Two Leg Drive).

A propos of Bentleys - I was flagging off the 50+ cars on the Lancashire Automobile Club's Kendal 100 tour last Sunday - with some very nice Bentleys, Alvis, Jaguar etc, and noticed as the last car departed trhat a solitary 1925 Bentley 3.0 remained - by this time being hooked up to a modern Audi to inject some electrickery.....after some time the Bentley was still resolutely refusing to spin over enough to start - so I suggested a tow start......
The owner was dubious -saying it was a heavy car - but I wasn't daunted and hooked up my 13 year old Alfa Giulietta diesel and proceeded to easily tow the Bentley - which sprang into life! Cue one very happy owner |

Personally I dont find waking up on a Sunday morning to images of Kiefts, Cooper MGs, Maserati A6 GCS, Lister Bristols etc served with my morning cuppa and 'weeties' that boring. Far more interesting than having to read the news.
Lovely selection of pics. Thanks Bob. |
