I get that that ads need to a bit louder but I don't think the sound level difference has been this big ever. Has to be unintended but needs to be solved too.

Cf. "loudness wars"... Or RLM could just drop the jingles -9dB/ -12dB, which could be simpler and certainly a lot cheaper. As it is now, every time the jingles come up I make a lunge for my headphones or to the volume of the car stereo (I'm mostly listening to the podcast...) |

Those jingles are definitely a bit too loud.
What was worse were the random stray short blasts of IMSA Radio jingles while listening to RLM. Ruined at least one of Jim Rollers anecdotes. The folks in the booth obivously didn't hear them and continued with out realising what happened. |

The jingles issue was a tech problem from London I gather - Believe it has been traced and sorted - You're right we couldn't hear it in the booth but I did hear it through the player later on.

On the subject of jingles, I am a big fan of the new 9pm jingle. It will probably get old in time but for now it makes me smile!
I do miss "Bono estente" though. |

Already said this on the MWM forum, but since no one in charge don't seem to spot it - could someone pass the word that we would like to get rest of the test day podcasts (hours 5-8)? I'm not sure if it's technical or staff issue or they've just forgotten.
I had sudden stuff to do on Sunday so couldn't follow the test live (not that it really was as bad this year now that there wasn't any static stream to go with audio and timing) and therefore I've had to try not to get spoiled by results from different sites while waiting for the rest of the pods to drop out. So I'm kinda living in the dark. Thanks, Chi |

Is the RLM site going through heavy traffic or something? Because it's not opening for me now, but it's not definitely not down as I checked it. Also if they were updating again like couple of days ago there surely had been message about it.

IIDRN says that the site is 'up and reachable'. So I don't know, connection just times out on the site...
Whatever surely it'll get fixed soon enough. Just wish I could listen to the second half of the test day already after almost weeks wait. I was told the reason they haven't uploaded them is because of the previously discussed sound level issues and fixing them, so good that they are rechecking them at least... but it's almost scrutineering and I'm falling back with not wanting to get spoiled. |

Yeah it's just a test day... but every LM session, even these not so overly crucial ones, mean more to me than all other races of the year combined, so I do want to not get spoiled. I am genuinely interested in the outcomes and finding them out as-it-goes. The rest of the year, doesn't really matter if I was unable to watch the rest of WEC season and got told somewhere who won the championship or whatever, it's trivial in comparison.

Does anyone know if/when the Pit Lane Live (w/ Sam Collins) from this morning will be up as a podcast? I've tried rolling back the live stream but it understandably doesn't go back that far.
Edit - Scratch that, it's just been uploaded now. Thanks all. Last edited by J Jay; 11 Jun 2015 at 15:39. |
