***Chevrolet on Thursday launched the 2024 Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition road car, which will be available later this year. It features unique aero, including dive-planes like the race car and a NASCAR Cup car-style wicker bill spoiler on the decklid along with a Garage 56 graphics package. Only 56 cars will be produced for the U.S. market.-- S365
Guessing 001 will be heading to Barrett Jackson for Hendrick to bid on and add to his collection of #1 production Chevy vehicles |

A few more laps to enhance the driver comparison.
I've kept 5,10,15 here based on the low number of laps running. Average Lap time
More of the same really. Jimmie gets the laps. Jenson second most. Mike the least, but is fastest. Mike only did 3 laps today. |

On another note, did anyone else hear the conversation on rlm about the potential of this car to be a class in IMSA? I don't think it will ever happen, but interesting to think about. |

It's cool because it is different. But when you watch a NASCAR race what you don't have is differences. Having more here wouldn't be adding much more value to me. |

That is a smart move. Well done ACO.
Or is it an outrage that they went back on what we said (it is different, I know ) |

The outrage is is the Americanization of the top gt class per Toyota along with the safety car rules or some such.

And FIA, NASCAR, IMSA and others (not a name teller, sorry!). Seriously speaking its a wise decision making sense and doing justice to the lap times. IMO. In case of SC, I suppose they will have their position preserved, first in category, between the last LMP2 and the first GTE.

I'm just hopeful it makes an appearance at Petit, even if it's just to make some evening photo laps or make some noise

Some interesting comments from Jenson Button...
Highlighting a feature of the car that will rarely have been seen at Le Mans, Button said: “The way that the tyres work, because it’s a NASCAR tyre just a bit bigger, it feels that you get the tyre hot, and then you just slide around. You think you’re going to have massive tyre wear, but you don’t. “I think people are going to enjoy it because they’re going to see the car drifting, and you don’t see cars drifting at Le Mans because the tyre damage is too high. “But with these tyres, they don’t really get damaged by oversteer. We’ll be drifting this car a lot through the Porsche Curves and other places around the lap. It’s going to be fun to watch.” That all sounded good for a dry track, but hows this going to work in the wet. Sounds like it could be a bit of a handful given the likely conditions today. |

Their dry tyre allocation is unlimited, unlike the other categories. important wear or not, they can drift as they want! Good for the show. No idea about the wet tires tho.

As to tires change, they have a special rule, five mechanics in the pits instead of four, the fifth is the jackman. Good because they cant push the car sideways as the others using pneumatic lifts and skateboards.

Simple TBI and high revs ain't conducive to fuel saving, they have to shut her down on caution laps to save much in Cup
