Did they just buy the Forbes R32? They have to sell the R31s to pay for the R32?

Yeah... but which one? The ex-HDT LJ, or the LC/LJ he had earlier?

Not sure Falcadore, I never knew there was two of them. I justed quoted above what was mentioned in the advertisement at the time.

Didn't Zupps have two Toranas of their own? A Series Proddie Car and an Improved Proddie version, or was Dick's own car the one in SP trim? I know DJ had an LC of his own which he eventually put a V8 in, and subsequently didn't like, but I didn't think this car got an LJ facelift.... this would've been the car that went to Barry Wraith IIRC. One of the Toranas went to Charlie O'Brien early in the piece, but I believe it was an ex-Zupps car.

The ex-Nixon-Smith, ex-HDT car - variously reported as being the car Bond rolled in the wet at Bathurst in 1972, although I believe that there are those who would contest that - was campaigned by DJ into 1976, until he took up a drive with Bryan Byrt. This was the car that the HDT called "Old Flexible" IIRC.

There were reports that DJ had, as late as 1984, one of the Toranas under his Mum's house in Mt Gravatt, along with all sorts of other stuff, I would assume that it all got cleaned out at some stage between then and now though.

Not sure I'd pay that for a car with a modest racing history. As I recall it, it was built and owned jointly by Barry Wraith and Wyne Park in 1985 and then bought out by Wayne Park the next year. I know it ran at Bathurst in 1985, finishing 20 something, but I don't think it did much after that, other then local Qld races.

The ex Perkins #42 VY seems better value at $78,000.

It's the cheapest outright Group A car on the market, by far.

If I had $85K to spare, it would be in my shed tomorrow.

Hey guys, what ever happened to Pete Geoghan VB Commodore that was raced in the early 80's? I knew it was converted to a VH and raced by Greg Symes but I can't find it's current home. All I know is it's somewhere in Queensland but that's all I know.

Kevin Heffernen owns it, and has done for many years. Its still pretty much in its 1984 Group C trim.

Check out the latest issue of AMC, has all the details of this car in there

I have an idea it was Jim's car in 1987. Not sure about 1988. It must have been one of the Doulman/Cotter 2 litre machines.

That was Jim's car from 88 ATCC and the Crompton/Parsons car from Bathurst that year. I have the Brock car from 88 which was the Brock/Richards #56 car from Bathurst that year. The 6 speed box actually belongs with my car not Jervis's.
