I would suggest that you listen to what the ITV team said plus also the interview with Dick Bennetts; they all stated that the team along with Thomson had been involved in trying to raise a budget for him; they thought they had found it with when they ran him for one meeting, but it would seem as though that wasn't what they thought and it fell through.

Go and pick an argument with someone else!

"They" thought "they" had found it when Thompson and his team did a deal with a new sponsor. A lot of money was spent on getting the BMW wrapped, a new race suit for Bobby and (very quickly, it must be said), a lot of merchandise which Bobby was handing out on race day.

However, the new sponsor did not come up with the money they had promised to Thompson. Nothing to do with WSR.

If there was a contract (or two contracts), one would be Zeus with BT, and then another with BT and WSR.

WSR are certainly not going to sue BT, and can BT afford to sue Zeus?

Do you know the full details of the contract, and which parties were signatories?

I just hope Bobby's back. He deserves another chance in a top team in WSR. Hopefully we'll see him back after the summer break

Did anyone else see Ingrams latest vid on YouTube? They changed discs and pads before each qualifying session. Given the cost of them that struck me as a bit unusual.

Doesn’t mean the ‘used’ ones don’t go back on later.

Not really, Nick and other teams towards the rear of the field then buy them a a knockdown price. to save on their own running costs, they don't mind that the initial 5% of the performance has been used up. That way Ingram gets fresh bits and the team moves on old stock and makes a bit back on their investment.

I thought the regulations restricted all drivers to a maximum of 36 sets (24 for RWD) of brake discs during the season, and that they can only run used discs that have previously been declared on their car at a prior meeting?

That's in the current regulations; however, there doesn't appear to be any mention of brake pads, though. I'm not knowledgable enough to know whether they come as sealed units including discs and pads; maybe someone else can answer that.

Discs for sure have a limit over season and teams will have seen Excerl8 changing them in Qualifying at Oulton

Oulton is really hard on brakes so perhaps they decided to take the extra performance there as it’s a heavy braking circuit and use a used set or 2 somewhere less heavy on the brakes , I don’t know just a guess really

I was at Brands Hatch last weekend and both Jake Hill and Rob Huff were driving cars on Saturday, on the GP circuit. I thought that was explicitly banned in the rules, as the championship hasn’t raced that layout yet?

It's maybe something they can do if they ask Lord Gow's permission first?

For the avoidance of doubt any testing or competing by any registered Driver, team or Entrant of any kind whatsoever and regardless of the type of vehicle cannot be undertaken at a venue using a circuit configuration which largely consists of that which is used at a Meeting of the 2024 Championship until after that Meeting, unless with the specific written authorisation of the Administrator or if the test is an Official organised test day open to all Entrants.

He specifically only drove on the Sunday last year though, which was the Indy layout.

Hill did Saturday (GP) and Sunday (Indy) last year and won all 4 races across the two days. This year he raced on the Saturday (GP) and won twice before the car was withdrawn.

Both years he clearly had permission as per the regulation shared by crmalcolm

Hill drove the Super Touring Primera on both days last year. You are thinking of Sutton who drove his NGTC Focus in the demo but was only allowed to drive the car on Sunday on the Indy circuit, and not on the GP circuit on Saturday.
