Blimey. That is a BIG site... They will, I presume, retain part of the current location, as it overlooks the Motorway, so is a great advert for PRDRIVE...

Prodrive has a facility capable of building a race car end to end (not composite tubs though) in its Australian Ford Performance Racing operation.
This place has a couple of engine dynos in place, and at least 6 people (from other international programs) allocated to engine performance for their Ford Falcon V8Supercar program. If these guys couldnt whip that i6 engine into shape, set up the ECU's, get rid of the lag issue, then they dont deserve to be there... Meantime there is a really cool racetrack at Phillip Island that would be perfect for high speed running... All this could have happened outside the critical eyes of Europe, and brought back as fully tested and hot run. Instead of looking worse than JLOC... I wonder how much of the margin prodrive is making from this program has headed towards building their new facility? |

My apologies if I missed it, did AMR say they would be running the AM-Lola is the rest of the ILMC? Will be great to see both Cytosport and AMR running at PLM, already planning on going but that's great icing on the round.

If the ILMC-entered car skips the race again they'll end up losing more money (and that little bit of credibility they have left) anyway...

In an interview a few weeks back Aston said they were talking to sponsors, owners and such before deciding what car to enter at Silverstone.

Aston Martin and a British round of the ILMC, that's a logical race to show your best besides LeMans for a British team.

The Laguna race weekend starts less than a week after Silverstone. Could that be a logistical problem? I think the fine is 30,000 Euros or something like that. Ok, that isn't pocket change, but a team may be able to save more by paying that and not running and having to ship things in a hurry. I don't know if that is the case. I don't know what the case is. |

with a visible and big "orbello" logo on the side/front of the car, i'm sure that the chassis who has taken part at le mans will be available again...

well according to racingsportscars.com 7 lola aston have been done modifying 5 09/60, 1 08/60 and a 10/60 chassis.
The 10/60 has been used by signature plus in the last 3 races of 2010 LMS, i'm really surprised that signature plus obtained 2 different cars during 2010 seasons, the official cars of AMR team used 2009 cars in 2010 season.... the first chassis built (08/60) is used this year by cytosport but no clues about what car has been used by kronos at le mans, maybe the 10/60 chassis of last year. |

Aston Martin DBR1-2 is the official name of the car, while between the motorsport fans is called with the nickname "lola aston", i'm sure that kronos used the 10/60 chassis or the chassis 09/60 of signature that was dismissed after le mans 2009. The kronos car had the orbello logo so surely is one of these 2. |

Here is a rundown of the Lola Aston Chassis: - B08/60-HU02 (DBR1/2-4) - Originally the Charouz entered Lola with the Aston V12. Run at the Nurburgring and Silverstone in 2008. Then became one of the factory Lola Astons. Was run in the 2009 LMS and 24 Hours of Le Mans. - B09/60-HU01 (DBR1/2-2) - Destroyed in testing. Car rebuilt as B09/60-HU01S - B09/60-HU01S (DBR1/2-2) - Built from the wreckage of B09/60-HU01. Run in the Le Mans Series and 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2009 and 2010. Currently being run by AMR Team Cytosport - B09/60-HU02 (DBR1/2-1) - Destroyed in testing. Car rebuilt as B09/60-HU02S - B09/60-HU02S (DBR1/2-1) - Built from the wreckage of B09/60-HU02. Run by the factory as car #007 in the Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans for 2009 and 2010. This is the car that the factory team will run at races later this year - B09/60-HU03S (DBR1/2-3) - Built for Signature Plus, then ran at Le Mans this year by Kronos Racing Last edited by WMUCarGuy; 14 Aug 2011 at 17:40. |

As far as I'm aware Cytosport's car is actually B0860-HU02, i.e. the ex-#008 factory car from '09.

Edit: DSC's initial report on Cytosport choosing Aston says they've acquired the ex-Signature Plus #008 car, but I don't think that's correct. I think you may be right that it's the '09 ex-factory car (B08/60-HU02). Last edited by WMUCarGuy; 14 Aug 2011 at 18:53. |

according to racingsportscars.com team cytosport currently uses the old 08/60 chassis with new 2011 restrictors.
Signature plus obtained, i don't know why, 2 different cars during the 2010 season: The first is the B0960-HU03S used at 2010 8h of paul ricard, 2010 1000km of spa and 2010 24h of le mans; unused after le mans who know why, maybe gone destroyed in somehow in a paul ricard test (racingsportscars says that this chassis has taken part twice at PR) The second one is the B1060-HU01S used at 2010 hungaroring, algarve and silverstone races of 2010 LMS, and maybe used by kronos team this year if the previous signature car hasn't been repaired (even if my theory is correct). I just hope that AMR will be able to use again one of 2009-2010 used 09/60 chassis for the races that plans to run. |
