During the last couple of days testing (Wednesday, Thursday), when track temperatures were slightly higher, most teams managed to get more laps with less degradation out of a set of Pirelli tyres. There were also less 'marbles'. It has also been estimated that the Barcelona GP may require three stops.

Will there be a brush sweeper or air blowing vehicle going out during safety cars to clean away the marbles off the side of the circuit?

It would be nice but as far as I know only one circuit on the F1 calandar has invested in such technology & it was used for the first time last year, can't remember where it was though

Mr Ecclestone could add the equipment to the Safety Car and the F1 cars and equipment and fly it in perhaps

I don't think Pirelli need worry about 'marbles'.
Did people stop buying Mercedes when Kimi's engines were blowing up? Did people stop buying Renault's when Vettel's engines were letting go? Did people stop buying Ferrari's pre-96? Whatever happens, someone will win with Pirelli tyres fitted. And anyway, it's not like no one ever won a race by having done 4 pit stops. Bring it on! |

One thing Pirelli could do is bring one set per car of very hard tyres that will last a race distance. That will be an extra 48 tyres per race. You can use them if you like. But the problem will always be that it'll be a no-brainer to use one strategy over the other because F1 teams are so precise with their strategies these days. So you may end up back in 2005...but only worse because there'll be no pit stops! |

Nor would they bother to tbh, for the reason stated.
Could be a better idea to do two stops on the harder tyres, rather than three or four on the softer tyre....if you can! Indeed. It was the FIA, FOTA and FOM that asked Pirelli for tyres that would last for 20 laps, max. |

Ah, the first rational argument I've ever seen for getting an HD telly, I bet it'll be almost impossible to tell the yellow, white and silver apart on the box!

White and Silver will not be run together since Pirelli are still keeping the tyres a step apart. So you will have Yellow and Silver for some races (first few) and then Red and White for other races (Monaco etc). Wet and intermediate tyres are easily identifiable.

Why have they put full wet tyres as orange? Why not those as blue?
This is going to be damned confusing... |

Six different colours.
Typical case of pandering to the more retarded fan and then inadvertently making the whole thing unnecessarily contrived, complicated and gimmicky. I mean really? Whatever happened to trying to work stuff out for yourself? |

No sooner will you figure out what tyres a driver is on and they will be back in the pits for a new set...
