Speaking of insane pace apparently they received a 95 sec penalty for speeding in the speed limited zone and yet still won by 15 seconds. Geez. Seeing Uwe Alzen driving a H&R liveried car like that takes me back to the Alien. Those were good times. |

They actually got two time penalties, the first of which was served as a stop-and-go, and also collided with a slower car shortly before that penalty. Apparently nothing could stop them last week.

I'm still interested, thanks for the report and pics, good read . Picked up a couple of things out of that. -the Alzen ford GT has a Reiter engineering seat. It's a small detail but certainly a point of interest. Is it a matech car? -The Alzen car being moved to SpX because of added aero which is there for faster cornering and in turn is dropping lap times, albeit making the cars faster even with the speed limits in place. Kinda makes a mockery of the speed limits..... -Jurgen Alzen refusing to race with the speed limits in place. Haven't heard anything about this. Is anyone doing this apart from him? |

Thanks Rich!
Might want to check out Jürgen Alzen's facebook profile, he goes on and on and on about it. There was some talk from Georg Weiß about not showing up with his car (Wochenspiegel Porsche) at VLN4, but there he was the next morning, qualifying for the race. Word on the street was that he didn't get enough other people to join him on his strike, so he decided to show up after all :') The speed limits are one big ****ing joke, though. They make the racing even more dangerous as people start to add extra aero resulting in higher corner speeds. As for the Ford GT moving into SPX, that's just a necessity when your car is modified so much that it doesn't fit its homologation anymore. |

Some awesome pics there Miguel, thanks for the coverage, I didn't even realise it was this weekend past, I thought it was this weekend instead. Love the pic of the Alzen Ford GT, the barriers snaking away on the left side of the pic frame it beautifully. Congrats to Rowe, sounds like Uwe Alzen went from hero to zero . Shame about what happened to Falken on the last lap too. Their loss was Frikadellis gain. |

Bummer for Farnbacher and the Lexus too. Hopefully the car is back in action soon. But one of the brothers will be in the same car for the Suzuka 1000km!

Thanks Richie! Beautiful photo indeed! The light was great last weekend.
Onboard with Christian Hohenadel (Rowe), can see how Uwe Alzen went off and how Adam Christodoulou pushed Hohenadel into Alzen in the first corner: https://youtu.be/06q2h0YOVaE Collision between Lexus and Walkenhorst in the early part of the race: https://youtu.be/HXBs1fFWgxs |

Well that was a low percentage move. Still, first time I've seen moving pictures of the Lexus, so thanks for that!

Of course Toyota uses the Gazoo name now also for the LMP1 team but if I remember well the Gazoo racing team operates from Belgium.

TRD does the cars. But its all Toyota so probably help from a little bit of everywhere. Im not sure TMG is involved with these GT3's, at least not yet.

They started on intermediates. Right as the cars were about to take off for the formation lap, a shower passed over the track, giving the cars that started on rain tyres the edge. They dropped back to 42nd or something in the first lap, and even when after a couple of laps the rest of the field came in for intermediates, they could only climb back to around 10th place. Around 16:00 they had a technical failure.

Walkenhorst announced today that they will race two BMW M6 GT3's next year and that Dunlop stays on as their sponsor. I must say, I'm pretty surprised that they are already set for the new season with two brand new cars.

Good news Miguel. Do you think that the M6 GTLM for IMSA the next year could be with Dunlop tires too?
