Virtual safety car in SRO events is only really used to slow the field down ASAP after an incident rather than having the cars driving around at 1/2 pace until they get to the SC. Normally once they are almost ready to go back to green they deploy the full SC and then restart the race. Unless they have changed it since last year.
Personally i can see the benefit of the VSC at Bathurst though, it might reduce some of the risk of coming across a car stranded in the middle of the track over the top of the mountain like the Mercedes/Audi accident a few years ago. |

... or cars running at +95% under yellows, and then having their own accident .
Only issue is if a SC is later necessary, you still have to get them bunched up, so presumably the SC just dawdles until the last car gets to the back of the pack |

Yeah, I got distracted from work by the Combined Sedans (fantastic finish, BTW).
Now, just after 4 on the east coast of the US, time to crack a tinny and get stuck in with The Mountain. |

Its good isnt it? BMW weren't fastest in any of the practice sessions, get a BOP break mid event and suddenly get pole.
Still think the Grello Manthey is the best car for the actual race though. They seem to be the only car that can consistently get better and better throughout a run. |

Hopefully the BMW doesn't run away at the front in the race.

Find it abit weird that they change BOP again but it is what it is. BMW will still be mighty on the straights. Looking forward to the first 90 minutes, some of the best visuals in motorsport imo.

Something’s gotta be wrong with the STM 222 Merc. None of the three drivers have been anywhere near the pace. Unfortunate as it’s such an interesting driver lineup.

#32 BMW made a mess of that! Ginetta damaged as the BMW tried to go round the outside! Climbed the wall.

There was quite a range of strategies, but this looks like it is resetting everyone on to the same schedule.
Edit. Not quite 77 and 75 stay out. |

Probably should ban multiclass racing. Did you suggest that to Hindy?
77 and 75 done their stops now. |
