The track on the Maserati was too wide. IMSA invited and allowed the car to race-I think there were given a few races to revise the track of the car, but I now don't remember if it was ever revised. It ran provisionally. The car was owned by a collector, and went into his collection after collecting some race history. The MC12 was never legal for ACO GT-1 because of the width, but was allowed in FIA GT racing.

In the 2005 ALMS, Risi entered a Maserati MC12. It ran full-time but wasn't allowed to score points. Drivers were Andrea Bertolini and Fabrizio de Simone.
In the 2007 ALMS, Doran entered a Maserati in two rounds. Neither could never claim a win over Corvette or Aston Martin. |

What ever happened to....?

I’m sure Corvette and Aston would’ve lobbied hard to ensure this. And as we see the Maserati had a negligible effect in the IMSA series unlike in FIA GT. Even with the car being run by a good team such as Risi and with factory drivers. One wonders how FIA GT would’ve looked like post 2004 if the FIA had not have been more open to the car like the ACO were. |

I'm still trying to find it but one of the raced Corsa cars went up for auction last year and got less than one of the street cars. And that was claimed to be the pattern for them all, think it was a Classic Driver article but can't find it. Was a car that looked great, sounded great but they forgot there was a rule book.

Considering they only raced in FIA GT I can certainly understand why the GT1 racers wouldn't be worth a lot. Sure they won a number of races, titles and Spa 24hr wins but that appeal would be limited due to the fact it only raced in limited series and never at Le Mans. Off the top of my head a Ferrari 575 GTC goes for 500-750k and I did hear a rumor of a Prodrive Ferrari 550 going for $3m which is insane if true-that wasn't the Le Mans 2003 winner either.. |

Hopefully in the future they'll use that earned money to fund their racing team.

And how dare they decide to be involved in motorsport in ways that don't involve letting the fans spend their money

Few little teams came to mind randomly
- Murphy Prototypes - Pegasus Racing - Extreme Limite AM Paris - Team Modena - K Plus K Motorsports - Zakspeed Also ACEMCO Motorsports, yes I know this is like the third time I've asked about them here they sold the S7-R but team just ceased to exist, right |

Alvaro Parente?
Pretty sure he was testing a BMW GT3 at Portimao earlier this year but he doesn't seem to have raced since 2021? |
