It's remarkable how similar it is to the R18, of what we can see! Though the front wheel arches do look a bit steeper, like the Toyota TS030 or the Lister Storm. |

Any idea what scale this wind tunnel is? But a better question would be, why do any wind tunnel testing at all if you just "borrow" proven aero concepts for your car?

Well this is a P2 right? So anyone who buys this chassis can put any engine in it correct? In essence you can finally rebadge a Lotus!

Run an LMP2 in LMP1, would that even work? Rebellion need to find something to run, unless they can keep the Lola.

Maybe Rebellion is working on attaining a Toyota for next year?
Or has that been crossed of the list. |

They wanted to use the 4.5L V8 from the planned Esprit, no-one is sure what will be now that Baharharhar is gone. However being in the P2 class any engine can be used.

Change on plans. All of the new concepts are binned, expect Esprit, which is now more likely to have a Toyota engine whenever it comes. I wouldn't count on this thing having a 'Lotus' V8 as early as 2013.
AFAIK, James Key is the one who has been leading this P2 project. But there are rumours that he's back in F1 to replace Ascanelli in Toro Rosso. |

Kinda sad really, does Toyota make a V8 that'd suit the Esprit?

Top Gear Mag issue 231 (June 2012) has an interview with Wolf Zimmermann who is the chief technical officer at lotus who says the new esprit engine (4.8L V8) is on the dyno and achieved 570bhp @ 8200 on it's very first run, with tweaks they got 9000 @ 9000. Both runs were with 'the original intake' suggesting they have made futher improvements since those runs. Apparently they've blown up several dyno's at Lotus with the engine so it's now at Bosch on the dyno's there doing reliablity runs 'around the nurburgring' at 7:30 laps (2 secs faster than a 458).

Could be the Lexus IS-F engine but that's a 5litre V8. Theres a lot left in it though. It only revs to 6500-7000rpm. If they get it right I guess 100hp more is in it.

I read in Autosport that Kolles said this car will end up being Lotus' 2014 LMP1 entry.
I did read that....didn't I? |

Not too sure about it myself but I am 100% sure Kolles was quoted saying something along those lines. |

All the next generation Lotus cars were due to have that engine, however, they decided it was too long and too tall for the esprit so they opted to make teir own in house aparently the new esprit would've needed to be 100mm longer to use the lexus/toyota engine

Does anyone know much about ADESS AG? I know they have some ex-F1 staff, I'm not sure what experience they have with prototypes (and F1 as mentioned in RCE). |
