The car was later sold as a roller in 1986, still in the Ignis Fridges livery that it remained in until 2006, when it was restored back to the STP livery.

However I have been told the running gear from the Group C car was used in the VK.

I'm there soon as it opens, I went up to Yeppoon last year and the Brock Experience was spine tingling for a fan like me. Seeing all that old iron was just awesome.

It is a great collection isn't it... even if the place should by rights be called the "Champion's Harvey Experience", given most of the Group C cars in there were Harves and not Brock's!

Really? And who put their household and business equity up as security to finance & create such race weapons?

the 4-door A9X that Brock supposedly drove on his return to the HDT in 1978 at Sandown, is actually the L34 that was left all but buggered after the first lap crash at the ATCC round at Amaroo in 1976, it was cut in half and 'joined at the hip' with an old road car rear end... John Harvey then raced this car for a few rounds of the 1977 ATCC

In truth thought those that are not genuine are noted as such.

Obviously Bowden owns some cars but its special because Brock was involved in the creation of the place, honestly I had a chill down my spine there. Its so much more than metal.

Has Mr Champion fixed the '82/'83 Bathurst winner he smashed at Goodwood after he ran out of talent?
If so has it been fixed to the correct colour scheme (Special Mild #25) as per it's late '83 flares & spoilers?

The #25 car displayed as #05 is certainly not noted as not being genuine

Not sure about the "4-door" though

the National Motor Racing Museum has the original 1984 #05 VK in its possession, as it has done for a tad over 25 years now.

No

HDT used the '83-model VH in the 1984 ATCC

The two "dayglo" VK big bangers debuted at Sandown, then ran at Bathurst, Surfers and Calder. In 1985 #25 was sold to John Farrell in WA and then onto GM Dealersport in the UK, while #05 was given to the Bathurst museum later in 1985.

So where did this one end up? I know the 82/83 Bathurst winner became the Andrew Harris K-Mart VH in 84, but what about Brocky's last VH? It was extremely fast but fragile at times, even at it's final race (Valvoline 250) she broke the gearbox with Slug & Skippy Parsons driving.

The 83 Enduro/84 ATCC VH is yet to be fully verified.

It was supposed to be the "Watson's car on the roof", the result of a Holden Dealer auction?

There is some suggestion by "eye witnesses" that the car on the roof may have ended up being a "donor".

There is also the suggestion, that is reasonably well known around the traps, that it could have ended up as a Cullen car.

Anyway, the "car on the roof" is in Qld.

Qld?.....As in one of the two 'multiple owners'?

It's amazing that more than 25 years on, there's still at least 2 theories on where it ended up. Probably the only '05' not fully accounted for.......
If Cullen got hold of it, could he have made his Bathurst '84 VK out of it? Or did anyone see a 2nd VH 'T-car' in the K-mart tent?

I don't recall any story of it being Group A'd or raced in Sports Sedans which may lean toward the 'car on the roof' theory. If so it was probably stripped of all it's usable bits.

I live out that way, i.e Watson Holden in Grimshaw Street Greensborough or Bundoora Vic. The 25 car sat on the roof of Watson Holden for a couple of years.Surely someone took a photo, I didnt.

Digressing Brock ran a HR from the Watson Holden used car yard in his early days.

The LeMans BMW was prepared around the corner I'm told.

There was a Commodore getting around in NSW Sports Sedans races in the mid-80s, running the post-September 1983 VH Group C bodykit, and painted in the same colours as #05 from Bathurst 1983 (minus the Marlboro decals etc.. obviously)...

I'd be surprised if it was the real thing, but you never know

Im pretty sure the only Brock car housed at Cullen's was the Harris (82/83 Bathurst Winner) car. I don't ever recall seeing the 83/84 #05 there . I do remember the David Parsons car being repaired there after its Adelaide 83 mishap. I'll confirm with Glenn re the Brock car when he gets in.
