It doesn't mean that the deal is off, just the the current owners aren't prepared to risk it not happening. A deal isn't a deal and a sale isn't a sale until the money is firmly banked.

Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

It was an Alfa Romeo 156 Gta built by Nordauto for the 2002 ETCC championship - in fact - I think it was Giovanardi's old car.

The same car that Carl Breeze and (briefly) Stefan Hodgetts drove in the 2004 BTCC.

Mark has raced in the VW Cup the last few years, he came 4th this season. A very competant driver and not affraid to air his views, he will be a brilliant addition to touring cars.

DW Racing UK are planning to enter the 2006 BTCC series with a single car.

motorsport news today confirmed the mark smith entry, to be run by infront motorsport as has been stated the car has been rebuilt from a shell that came from ga

of course, the more entries the better but im a bit dubious about dw racing havent they announced plans before?

Do you know anything mroe about DW, what have they ran before, and what will the driver/car combination be? I don't recall them entering before, but I could be wrong. It'd be a shame if Kartworld fall through, they were always a respectable midfield team, even if some of their results were a bit lucky last season.

I'm more than dubious about DW Racing.
www.dwracinguk.co.uk
runs a scholarship programme for Clios
pictures of a BTCC MG and various other Clios, probably none of which they own
contact details are mobile phone number and AOL email address

Forgive for being a tad sceptical but none of that inspires me with confidence

We'll just have to wait an see with this one. They don't seem to know which car they want to run, that lack of professioanlism hit me when I read it - bit like the infamous TTR Motorsport if you ask me :P (If anyone doesn't know who I mean, search for it in this forum)
I really hope Kartworld Racing have got the Maurer Motorsport cars. They have a reputation for generally delivering what they promise.

Anyone know what John George is doing in 2006?

He was all set to enter the BTCC again in 05 before Vic was arrested.

Would love to see him and his LPG car(s) out again.

5 of the Clios belong to Boulevard, 3 have had a few owners since the piccy of them was taken & the green one belongs to me....

Knowing the struggle to find that most rarist of breeds - the sponsor - then fair play to them for giving it a go & hopefully they'll add to the grid

He still owns the 3 406s I believe, but the 307s he wanted to run last year are now for sale by Griffin Racing. It'd be nice to see him again though.

Some background on Mark Smith

Found some more on DW Racing's plans.

That was the name I was trying to think. Reminded me of them immediately but couldn't remember the name and didn't have time to search for it.

BTW, as you were the one who posted that they would be entering, where did you get the info from?

Edit, having now seen Craner's post. They want to do Clios AND BTCC and have little or no previous experience of any top-line racing? Dream on.

Wasn't Darren Turner an ex-MB DTM driver?

Darren was the 1996 McLaren/Autosport/BRDC young driver winner; been racing GTs recently and in the past has done F1 testing for McLaren when they need an extra pair of hands.

I'm not so sure about that one, I can't see Darren stepping down from LMS/FIA GT's to the BTCC.
