The bad news is that I can't find the seasonal survey in any copy of 1972 or early 1973 Autosprint and there are no pages or issues missing! The mystery deepens.
I do, however, have a suggestion about the weird number 35-88 that appears in the hands of a couple of drivers late season. 1972 production of BT35 would seem to start with 44 [the Mikel car] as we know 43 was delivered to Gerard in October 71. This means 45-49 all new cars, and we can pretty much trace the users race by race in 1972. However Sc. Italia with backing from Eifelland ordered a new BT35 April 72 for Heinz Lange. The order date means it's ordered after 35-49 appears. Autosprint 8-15 May p. 46 says of the car it is 'scatolata' or 'box-shielded' [Google trans] does this mean plated space-frame? It can't be a BT38C as Lange is always credited with a BT35 that season. Is this the works putting a funny number on to designate a special car? Chris |

Just to assist with anyone keeping lists of ownership - i have just bought BT35-6 from Pater Shaw. We ran it at Pau last weekend - still in bright yellow "AA" colours where the car (at least) performed faultlessly and was a real pleasure to drive. It stayed with Roy Walzers 35/36 running the injected BDA so that cannot be too bad.

George Nuse, I think you mean, as in post #347 above. He said he had BT35C-17.

Dates are right for Strom, who got a Chevron B29 in late 1975 and was fatally injured in it in 1977.
Trying to work out the late season FB BT35s and thought this might have been Lader's car, but it can't be as that went to Frank Fitch in 1972 and then disappears off the radar. Chris |

Not sure when it went to the States but I see it has BT30/36 fuel tanks which I don't remember it having when it was in the UK. Andrew |

I think that this was the car that John Harper ran in Euro F2 in its early days.He had the 36 side tanks fitted. If its the same car it was sold to Robert Brooks ,and went to the USA via Sid Hoole.

Thanks guys,I'm keen to buy another Brabham and have always liked the BT30,35,36 shape ever since a mate raced a F2 BT30 in historics years ago.I don't to buy a car that will have issues or take years to get a log book so thus am very gun shy.

John Jarper had BT35-35 which he raced as an F2 and later sold to Georges Legein (Belgium) who fitted a Lotus T/C engine and narrow wheels and raced it as an F3. Later sold to France and still raced as an F3. Car was said to be ex Mike Howley, Bob Howlings, Mike Sharott (Jamaica), Bob Howlings, Peter Watts. |

BT35-35 was supplies new to hillcimber Mike Hawley. I think he ran it with an FVC. David Render was the second owner, later Bob Howlings, sold to Jamaica, returned UK 1986.It was rebuilt by Retro Track & Air for John Harper to race in Euro F2.Got confused in earlier post THIS was the car sold to Robert Brooks.

I have just encountered some information that shows 'Sandro Cinotti' with the Jolly Club team in Italian F3 during 1972. Rd 1 no information Rd.2 Monza DNF Rd 3 Imola 8th place Rd 4 Monza 4th place Rd 5 Monza 5th place Rd 6 Varano 5th place Rd 7 Imola DNS After this he disappears from the radar, not taking part in any more F3 races. Stephen will be able to confirm the chassis number from the information I passed to him (sorry - don't have it with me at the moment), but I know he never drove chassis 47 - the only one Jolly Club ran with an Alfa Romeo engine. His was listed as 'Ford Novamotor' |

he re-appears throughout the 1973 season with Jolly Club in one of or several of their BT35's with Ford Novamotor engines. The last time he appears is in the last round at Campagolo (?) finishing 5th. For 1974 he is with Scuderia Nettuno in a March 748, again with the Ford Novamotor engine. Perhaps the car you have Simon, hasn't seen much action since the end of 1973, given that the drivers name is still there! |

Cinotti's car is given by Autosprint as chassis BT35-47. [We finally found page 1 of the seasonal survey courtesy of Giuseppe Bianchini]
A couple of amendments to that results list [courtesy of 1972 Autosprint] Imola 1 May 4th and fastest lap Varano 4th The car doesn't seem to appear with other drivers after the accident at Imola, suggesting it was quite severe. Hope to find out from 1973 Autosprint where the car went that season. Chris |

The last record I have is of car 47 at Autodromo di Casale Monferrato on 29th April 1974. The car is with the Alfa engine, recording a DNQ The driver is Pino Pica, I of Scuderia Jolly Club. In researching this, it appears I was wrong about the Alfa engined cars. No.48 was Alfa fitted as well. The information I have only suggests that the car / driver DNQ on 1st May at Imola - (DNQ 47 Luciano Cavagni, I Scuderia Jolly Club Brabham BT35 - Alfa Romeo ) ,and having the benefit of both the qualifying heat times available, there is no suggestion of a crash. Can we try and clear this up? My chassis (47) shows no sign of serious damage or reapirs. Thanks |
