2016 Australian GT Championship

Have fun Scud. Be interesting to see how the 488 goes out of the box. Good to see McConkin back out and about. This track should suit the McLaren really well so expecting them to be very quick around here. Should be some good racing. Wish I was there. Last time i saw GTs at Albert Park the Audi R8 was the new kid on the block and Tony was driving the DBSR9. |

Would love another crack at it one day. Can you guys take the back curve flat? There was no way we could in the R35 GT-R. |

I think the racing format is a better alternative than timed pit stops in a 25 minute race. Also it will feel more like a real race without this.Biggest disappointment is that all the pros haven't been put into one of Driver A or Driver B lists. As far as I can see Mies,Webb,Martin and Richards are A and Canto,Antunes, D'Alberto and Baird are B.Would have been good to see all those guys in one race.
Best spectating approach might be to just enjoy the races in front of me and just ignore the post race handicaps. It will also give an idea of what GT racing is like without the timed pit stops. |

Just out of curiosity Scudd-how much difference in downforce is there between the R-Ex and your Cup car? I'm sure the difference is quite noticeable but can you put a rough figure on it percentage wise? |

An amateur like me wouldn't be using all the downforce available but I'd guess it would be a fair bit more. Bigger front splitter, double dive plates, bigger rear wing with gurney flap, bigger rear diffuser all adds up.

Wonder why the 2 488s were excluded from Q1. Benny was quick in Q2

Shame they didn't get the homologation sorted out in time. I'm assuming Ferrari were aware of the deadline, seems strange they didn't make it happen in time.
So they excluded both cars from Q1, but took Benny's time from Q2 into account. I'm confused? |

When you look at Natsoft website, times for both cars in Q2 were counted. Its just that Benny topped Q2 while Peter Edwards bottomed it. Perhaps he was just getting used to the car and taking it easy.

Way to go Bairdo so that is the first victory for the new AMG in the world I take it. Mystified at lack of pace from the McLarens |
