Thanks. But the chassis numbering scheme is bit confusing.

Looks better dan the original design.
They dropped the Juno part in the name? What does this car cost (in or excluding engine)? |

Price cap is €195k. Don't know if that is with or without the engine.

For some reason, I miss those times when the cockpit for the Le Mans Prototype is meant for two passengers when I look at the Ginetta LMP3 car.
Looks great, but I worry that this class will be dumbed down... |

Meh, I don't really car for these cars to be in TUSC.
I don't car for PC, don't care for P3. I perfer them to be in some other lower series in IMSA. Like what IMSA lights is. |

All LMP3s except the lone LNT "works" car have been withdrawn from the Ricard test, also in this morning's first session they only did 10 laps and were easily slowest of all the cars - incl GTs - that run on the track. Best top speed was also 30kph slower than that of front LMP2.

The single Ginetta did further 21 laps in the afternoon session and finished with a best lap of 1:59.768, just under 3 seconds slower than the GTE polesitter and 1,5 slower than tweaked down GT3. But at least it wasn't the slowest thing overall as it did beat two GTs in pace...
Maximum speed improved to 279.1, which actually beat most of the LMP2 field. Then again the fastest things out there speed wise were the GT3 cars, topping 286.5 kph |

I can´t believe that teams will go to Silverstone with a car that has been tested first time today.

Anyway I expect the grid to be lower than 7 stated on the original entry list, by the two withdrawals of Ricard alone and the suspectful timeframe teams are receiving their cars. Another pic via DSC |

Just looking at the times from this morning the Ginetta is right on the pace of the quickest GTC cars.

Five Ginettas on Silverstone entry list:
LNT LNT Bolton Lanan SVK Leaving out Rollcentre and Cetilar Villorba Corse. Guess they didn't receive chassis in time? |

I see that Ginetta have entered one of their P3s for 24h of Silverstone:
http://www.britcar24hr.co.uk/home/pr...al-entry-list/ Smart move, that should really help with figuring out all the gremlins. |

Does this reflect some of the downsides to starting the season at Silverstone (and a pretty prompt start at that too)?
Thinking particularly of Rollcentre, you can see them making quite an event of it, and not having a car to run at their home event probably doesn't make life all that easy for them. Given the high profile nature of the Silverstone round (double header with WEC) and the size of the industry in the UK is there an argument for rejigging the scheduling? Obviously this is applicable to the WEC too (witness Rebellion and Nissan's travails), and indeed the physical comfort issues of being out and about in the UK at this time of year if one is spectating. |

Are these supply issues also the reason why only 4 results out of the 5 races count towards the LMP3 points total?

that'd make sense, wouldn't it? it's a smart move for a formula/class in its first season.
about the uk being a first round thing... i suppose the counter point is that a lot of teams are only just putting their cars in the truck to go to silverstone now. if it was a euro round, they'd have had to get rid of it on monday. those extra few days in the workshop are probably pretty useful for the first round of the season! |

for villorba it's probably more of a curse than a blessing. based in italy there's no quick way to the uk, so not only do they have the delivery time for parts from here to there they also have to get the complete thing from there to here for the race. they're putting the emphasis on a lack of testing time rather than lack of build time though so perhaps it's a moot point.
