Hope it's a competitive car in the competitive P2 field. It for sure does look different than all other P2 options.

Not at all easy to get any info on the race from Killarney, but it seems the Pilbeam finished the race with some mechanical issues. This was really a test for them, I guess.

The new 05 will have the R-One monocoque but everything else will be different and new, apart from some carryover components from the old open top. Also they will have brand new base for US operations + want to have the car on USCC market for 2016 |

I'll be very surprised if those brake duct inlets will produce enough cooling, look half the diameter of the 03R's and I rarely see those cars running 50% blanking.
---- Also pretty excited about the 05! |

Thanks for the link Chiana, sounds particularly interesting that they clearly expect the car to still be useable in the US past 2016 (as it should be, the P2 rules should already be confirmed by this point!).

Having to remove the entire nose on that Pilbeam to do any mechanical changes? Yikes!

We don't need more badge engineered cars.

If badge engineering secures the new car, does that count as 'acceptable'? I don't like it particularly, but its part of the sponsorship then so be it; at least it's not named after an energy drink.

Soon the fake names overpower the real titles in P2. Although that might already be the case. At least in DP, while obviously inferior in any other way, those "Corvettes" have real engine and GM approved thin bodywork instead of literally just cashbags acquired for rebranding. That's something.
They mentioned Alpine so it could be another full chassis rehomologation instead of just cheap stickers and change in entry lists |

If they do rebrand a car, hopefully it will be a Lola/Multimatic then. Or the Lotus. :P

I hope it's the Oak open top. Then you could have Wolf-Morgan-Oak-Pescarolo Judd-BMW and SARD with Morgan-Oak-Pescarolo Toyota-Judd-BMW

Or with the Lotus choice... Wolf-Lotus-Kodewa-ADESS Praga-Lotus-Judd-BMW.
Yeah kind of ridiculous. |

I wonder if the disintegrating Russian economy and plummeting rouble is going to affect SMP, G-Drive etc...

But I think that the wealthy men behind those teams, have a nice saving account in Zürich where they can do their shopping from (unless they are among those who have their foreign assets frozen) |
