This rule is what is making this such an issue. At least last year Hyundai had other cars racing right from the start. By the looks of it customers might not get the cars in time for the starts of the season and they might only give it out to Chinese amateurs meaning still no one actually knows their true pace.

The rules also state that the car must be delivered within 3 months. |

For the south east Asian leg of WTCR, they had a spare chassis shipped out for every main chassis. So that's 8...

What was the actual homologation date for the Lynk & Co? It seems to be a pretty hard thing to actually find out. I'm guessing it wouldn't have been until a couple of months before the season start which means they're still well within the rules.

March/April is when the homologation is renewed, and base BOP is assigned.

TCR Organisers test all the cars in mid march to decide the the base BOP of the new vehicles.
Lynk and Co have until at least March 2020 to build 10 cars and offer them for sale. Them opening up the orders for the cars in october mean they are well inside the rules |

I dare say they've built the required amount, or close to it already.
They're just being cheeky about selling them. |

Seems like there'll be 2/3 drivers miles ahead of everyone else though!

Exactly. Rory Butcher will be good too but being new to TCR and in a less developed car I don't think he'll be challenging the top two.

Maybe MG booked both Team China and Team UK slots, and then called Buthcer? I remember seeing that professional drivers are forbidden from competing here. Or that was for Gold drivers. That's one reason why Vervisch was replaced with Magnus, since Vervisch is factory driver and in my understand of things he counts as gold driver. |

'The event will see drivers compete not primarily for themselves or their teams, but rather for their country. Each country will only be permitted one entry in each competition, with the FIAs affiliated National Sporting Authorities (ASNs) responsible for nominating the drivers that will represent them.
