www.sportmotores.com says that old 2005 cars will be sold for independent teams or national championships.

The LG logo is removed from the official WTCC website. Also on the new Chevrolet is no LG windscreen sticker.

Is LG no longer sponsor of the WTCC?

I think LG left the WTCC and FIA GT after the fall of the LG super weekend thing, and this year was the last, LG are/were looking for sponsoring a F1 team ......

Slightly O/T, but it seems the new F3000 International Masters series will support WTCC this year after all... see this thread for more info.

How do you mean?

In this list are only teams who are entered as (semi-)factory team. I expect also independant teams like SEAT Holland, Crawford Racing, Wiechers-Sport and Proteam Motorsport.

I am almost sure SEAT Holland and Tom Coronel will be racing WTCC in 2006 (see my post of 9 Jan 2006, 18:56h) but I don't know which team will run the car.

Well, in 2005, you had Alfa and Ford as Works team, even though the Ford was more semi-works?? Rumor had Honda possibly coming back as a Works team. Though for '06, we now have a more S2000 friendly BTCC?

Well, in my opinion it certainly is a lot more attractive than the new E90 BMW, but I know that's a polar issue.

And I know it's been said before, but it's "Lacetti". No "N" in there!

it seems it's a lighter blue . nicer .. the Chevy logo is a bit too big i recon . but overall quite nice .

Yeah, I recall Dodge was going to enter ST for the next gen Neon. Well, could the rumor finally be fulfilled with a WTCC entry. I assume the entry would be the new '07 Dodge Calibre (5 dr hatchbackish???

Lexus or Toyota marketd the IS200/IS300 as a sports sedan, but they never really raced it heavily against BMW. The efforts were usually semi-works at best and they always got trounced by BMW.

OTOH, just b/c you don't race in touring cars, doesn't make not a sports sedan. I say prove it, BMW has repeatedly done so!

Spanish rally driver Dani Solá, who didn´t get an official car for WRC this year, could race two races in WTCC with a SEAT. Also he would drive two races in Spanish SEAT Leon Copa.
