gotta be the first time anybody has ever detuned TO a race car. but anything to add more potential to GT1 class has gotta be a good thing, now to get some of them to the ALMS

i think the Cerbera speed12 was also A LOT detuned... and even the Mc12 is probably less powerful with GT1 restrictors... btw, really happy to see Koenigsegg going to race, i just hope this will be real one day and not only a PR exercise...

Didn't the McLaren F1 and TVR Speed 12 receive such treatment?

The C6-R will probably also be under the name of PK-Carsport. But because there are now 2 cars there are probably not enough mechanics etc. for running 2 cars. So the Phoenix mechanics (and other things) will run the C6-R and the PK Carsport mechanics the C5-R.
GL and PK are both I thought belgian (one of them in the hands of Antony Kumpens dad).
Mike Hezemans owns Carsport Holland and the C6-R
C5-R is in the hands of GLPK.
Thats why they can pull this trick out

There is a rumour that Amprex will enter their old Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT in the FIA GT Zhuhai race. So a total of 3 Murcielagos at the first race.

I guess this is a good chance for Amprex to meet up with Reiter and get the parts and support they need to update their car.

Looks like Spectrum Motorsport did not come though with the funding to purcahse the two ACEMCO Saleens.

UPDATE (27-2-2007)
"Dana Brewer failed to fund the transaction and the purchase agreement has expired," comments Jeff Giangrande. "So the cars, all the equipment and the technical data are all still available."
Thanks to our colleagues at Dailysportscar.com for answering the question whether Spectrum Motorsport was yet another Dana Brewer scam. Let's just hope this was the last we saw of Dana Brewer!
DOnt know if this is old news.

k, sorry to have forgotten about 2 of the better looking streetcars of the last 20 years, esp the TVR. but on to newer additions, gotta think Koenigsegg would actually bring at least one of their own cars to racing, but 3 are required?? (dont know to much about FIA GT since it isnt shown here) And then the new GT, the team running it a new team or a good history in racing? Might help the Doran effort actually make a race in the ALMS.

FIA GT site is saying that Race Alliance will change their name to "Jet Alliance Racing" and will field 2 DBR9'S .

Wendlinger-Sharp and Robert Lechner-Lichter Hoyer .

Any news about Walter Lechner Jr ?

They have lost their Red Bull sponsorship and now have Cessna Citation as a sponsor .

Didnt Mercedes-Benz have Cessna sponsorship at their last appearance at Le Mans ??? Must have been Cessna , it didnt fly very well !!!

Looks fine in light blue ..... glad its not bloody green !!!

Liking that light blue livery actually. Something kinda different on an Aston.

There was also news of GT4 cars being tested. With just two months to go until that series kicks off, does anyone have any high hopes for it? Having heard pretty much no news, I can't help but think this'll be a little bit of a flop!? Having said that, I was hugely sceptical of Euro GT3 until they appeared at Silverstone last year...

reminds me a lot of the 2003 luc alphnad ferrari 550GT livery, and that was imo the best ever GT1 paintscheme apart from the cirtek konvers 05 DBR9

No GT1 homologation, no FIA-GT / citation cup. And Porsche won´t homologate the Carrera GT.

If I remember well private teams are able to homologate their own version of a GT car, even without factory blessing (i.e. Prodrive 550)

Some TV coverage news at last for the UK.

The latest FIA GT newsletter is indicating that Men & Motors will be showing Zhuhai in full, but with no confirmed transmission times or dates. Sky 3 have a 52 minute highlights show at 22.00 on 29.03.07, with C4 showing a 26 minute show at an as yet to be confirmed date.
