Audi BMW GM (most likely) Porsche Ferrari Peugeot Toyota Glickenhaus This has the potential to be glorious with convergence. Lets hope IMSA allows hypercars at Daytona |

Well le mans 2023 looks like being rather full, they might even have to bring back a real qualifying round and some people will not get to race

2023 is going to be one hell of a year for sportscar racing, vastly eclipsing the Audi/Toyota/Porsche glory years

good luck for ACO when will have to choose to please lmdh manufacturers interests or LMH ones.... it's inetivable soon or later these two "philosphies" will clash in a political conflict.
At the moment: audi, porsche -> multimatic-porsche (lamborghini too?) GM -> likely dallara-ECR tuned GM (rebranded as corvette lmdh?) acura -> oreca-HPD bmw -> ??? guess ligier big nose would fit good with bmw big grills fetishism |

I hope politics take a backseat but i fear with bop being the equalizer, someone or a few someone's will have words to say. But those are soon to be first-world problems.

Acura has a turbo V6 in their pocket Porsche/Audi/VAG others have been rumored to be TTV8 from the Cayenne, that's also me assuming one shared engine BMW have that very nice new I6 turbo they could use So far we could have different engine build for each car. |

Hopefully the 6 in line of BMW will sound as beautiful as this......

IIRC using an I6 as a stressed component in a prototype is a very bad idea as it's too long and narrow to withstand the forces exerted on it.

I don't believe that any stock block engines in DPI (nor the Mazda 4 banger) are being used as fully-stressed members.

A I6 on the back of an lmp2 chassis is not that easy to fit, it would be required a lot of work... it basically needs the same longitudinal room of a V12, everything further complicated by the packaging of turbo parts.
What about an updated version of the dinan tuned bmw V8 5L? old gran-am engines were in the range of 500-520hp only because heavily restricted |

They could use the M6 GT3 engine. But I hope they find a way to use the straight 6.

Well it took BMW an additional 13 hours to post effectively the same thing on their social channels. So it's doubly official. Still no press release that I can see. Want to see that WEC programme confirmed too.
Hopefully their race programme is more dialled than these comms! |

I'm sure the rules will once again provide the conditions necessary for a variety of stock blocks (up to a certain length). You're saying it like Aston Martin didn't do just that with roaring success! |

Actual lmp2 chassis fit good for turbo V6 or NA V8 but yeah with some work guess it will be possible to fit a I6 turbo too |

It was an AMR-One joke.
Remember? It had a semi-stressed turbo i6 by Cosworth, which turned out to be such a great idea. |

I find it extremely tiresome to join the positivity thread and this good news be met with negativity.
It’s fine to discuss those point. Just not here. This was the place to enjoy good news - be miserable about the incoming golden age isn’t how you’d like it be elsewhere. |
