Now that BMW has a FWD C-segment car, BMW have a base car that conforms to the spirit of TCR structure and regulations, so maybe that will quell hopeful demand for a RWD D-segment car in TCR.
That said, It's very unlikely BMW will build a TCR racer based on this Chinese-market car, the upcoming global 1-Series hatch makes far more sense for that application, if BMW have any interest in TCR at all. |

It's built on a FWD platform. FWD will almost definitely be standard (at least on lower models) with optional xDrive.

In other news; Audi's decision on a TCR A3 to be made by the end of July. Quote:

A3 saloon will be a game changer if Audi build it. A 3 box car is so much better than hatch for aero. And with the added backing of Audi Sport.... wow

Do we really need another VAG car, though? I'd rather see something else.

More makes will make championship better even if they are from same corporation. If BMW and others finally find out that they can earn money with selling TCR spec cars it will not take long after they get in.

Variety is good - I don't mind if they are owned by the same corporation.

With IMSA planning to adopt TCR the US market is opening up, creating added interest from manufacturers. Mazda is evaluating the platform, who knows what other brands we might see!

Mazda 3 suits TCR.
Still surprised Nissan has not joined TCR. Any news about the Kia and Ford? |

Maybe Nissan is testing in secrecy following excellent Le Mans project
On STARD site note say that Cee'd will be ready for next year debut And according to this http://www.italiaracing.net/newsint....=134292&cat=88 Buriram organisers are expecting Ford Focus. |

If a car is built for TCR, I get the impression that it would be a US endeavor for US racing only. Ideally, Hiroshima would develop an Axela TCR for global sale, but that is unfortunately most unlikely. |

It's cheaper to build 50 cars with the same rules than 4 cars for each of a dozen rulesets.

Maybe its mistake but it's Aku Pellinen is listed with 30kg ballast. So that mean he will be back. |
