https://www.dailysportscar.com/2023/...s-line-up.html
IE second car has pivoted and taken some different funding. Wonder what happened to Charles Crews? Not expecting this lineup to make any headlines during race week but cool to see Jan do his 24th Le Mans. Not 24th start however as 2015 was a DNS. |

Rossi headlines the Road to Le Mans entry list: https://www.dailysportscar.com/wp-co...Entry-List.pdf
Unfortunately no tickets left for his army of fans to snap up. That will be next year I'd imagine. |

58 cars on the Road to Le Mans grid. It's going to be carnage.
Some big names in the field: Valentino Rossi, Yvan Muller, Guy Smith and Jan Magnussen. https://www.dailysportscar.com/2023/...ort-races.html |

Glick drivers confirmed - not quite the standard I was hoping for considering they're in the top class, but needs must I suppose. Other line-ups confirmed too - is that all of them now, or do any cars still have a free seat? |

The whole list is here: https://www.dailysportscar.com/wp-co...-LM24-list.pdf
Wasn't much left to fill. New additions all quite AM'y. Looks like Inception/Brendan Iribe have bought into the #88 Proton entry. Tincknell retained. Bruni has lost his seat for this year. Risi have pulled out from reserve 3 - not sure if that was already known. |

Bit of a surprise nobody picked up Sebastian Montoya, the kid is fast as a bullet - and a silver!

32 rookies this year if I've identified and added up correctly. That's way less than the 50ish we've had in the last two editions. And it's down on the average for the last decade which is a smidge over 40.

What's caused that?
Consistency in the teams? Less GTE-Am? |

Could be something to do with new or newish projects, teams quite rightly are favouring more experienced hands to make sure they get plenty of mileage. Not always a good idea to have an inexperienced hand in a car that's might not be sorted, especially at an event like LM. Although less GTE-Am also would mean less chance for rookies too.

There only a slight drop in GTEAm field this year- large HY field means there's a bid step up in quality of cars overall and probably budgets so makes sense to pay for experience given all the costs of getting cars there.
Over the last 6 years or so pre Hypercar both LMP1 and GTEPro fields dwindled and over those years there were more (and so new teams) coming into to both LMP2 and GTEAm. Plus there's 2023 factor giving drivers incentive to stay loyal and sign up for WEC teams over other series. |

Any chance you might have the breakdown by driver ratings (P/G/S/B)? Thx!

On a similar note, I make it 13 previous Le Mans victors in the field - 11 in hypercar (all six Toyota drivers, Lotterer, Bamber, Tandy, Duval, and Dumas), along with Jani in LMP2 and Rocky in Garage 56.
Have I missed any when scanning the entry list? |

Don't think you missed any sir. It's a good number. Hopefully we can see more names added to that winners list this year.

I'm normally a fan of drivers rather than cars or manufacturers, but this year I'm stuck between hoping for a Glickenhaus win or the #3 Caddy - I'd love for Bourdais to finally get his win. |

Slightly off topic, did anyone notice if they've announced the Grand Marshall and race starter/flag waver yet? Taking a punt on Tom K being one of those but wondered if anyone had seen anything?
