belt driven has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Set alarm to catch USA coverage at 600 and recaps. I gots questions...

Did Calderon break the 66 Acura or did she have help? Last lap was slow. At least it's locked into the 19th place it was running. It had lost laps B4 midnite.

85 got laps back. Pesky (no misprint) Porsches all on pace/in contention/in line astern. Are we headed for a 1980 style Turbopanzer future? 7 Campbell just set FL.
Edit: I mispoke/misread scoring. Campbell set CAR FL.

There's actually an intriguing 5 day Test match taking place right now between India and England now in India. India have only lost 3 matches in the last 46 at home and it looks like England could win despite India looking on control of the match for the first two and a half days. That is the beauty of Test Cricket. It's probably the most similar sport to endurance racing in that the lengthy time the event takes allows the event to ebb and flow. And epic comebacks and the like to take place.

Once it's finished (in about 30 minutes at most) hopefully it'll be light in Daytona and I can start watching again.

Great day of sport with the Newport County Vs Man United game in the FA Cup as well. Hoping the Welsh team can get an upset result there.
I don't understand half of what you said. No offence, but we better stick to Rolex B4 they boot us.

Just woke up myself here in Daytona. Fingers crossed I can get to the track to watch at least some racing this morning. I have to prioritize taking my family to Disney Springs today. My and older son are the race fans, wife is not although she enjoyed the night time party atmosphere last night. She got to take a picture with the guys dressed up as red clowns.

Was there mostly green flag racing overnight? I notice GTP is down to just 6 contenders and GTD is down to just 4 cars on the lead lap. Checking just past 7 am eastern

Starting to get racey in LMP2 & GTP, both of those were rather too close for comfort.

#6 leapfrogs #31 in the pits, with #7 potentially jumping them both based on the stops.

Edit edit - Campbell is passed by Jaminet & Aitken on his outlap.

Whatever the problem is, they obviously can't fix it.

Yeah, the gremlins got them again. After this race, they need to have a sit-down with the officials to determine whether this can be worked on, along with the other teams.

Not sure, the problem is with one car and not with the other. Also they had similar issues last year both in IMSA and WEC (not to the extent of it repeating multiple times in 1 race tho).

If the ACO are any indication, the teams will be told to deal with it (Toyota torque sensor, Audi fuel flow sensor, etc). It is considered the teams' responsibility to find fault, whether it's theirs or the organisers.

But at least another Porsche is now on the back of the #31.

flatlandsman has been held in scrutiny for further testing
IS it that they pushing a limit that other teams are not, it also seems the car runs very low to the ground,

Well, they need to be on top of this, especially with the newer cars coming this season. It's one thing getting caught messing with tire pressures, but this is totally different.

Definitely. After all they didn't rewrite the software so it reports torque withing limits while in fact it's exceeding them

Playing in Matt Campbell's helmet right now.

#3 in the garage, with its engine bay still doing a pretty good barbeque impression.

1. The support staff at the speedway is awesome today!
2. The atmosphere is great. Love the partying that went on.
3. GTD Pro race is the best watch for sure right now. 9 cars still in the hunt as I type this, including both Corvettes and Mustangs. GTD Ams are all 1 lap down to the pro field, so they won't have a mixed race like last year.
4. The Cadillac hypercars are awesome seeing them in person!
I went '91-'95. Your post fueled my need to go back by 20%.
First trip, at the drop of the green, I sprint drank. Napped, woke up, left to eat. I learned.
I never understood counting sheep. Lying in a tent listening to cars (Nascar 1/"the fishhook"): That's a Jag, that's a Nissan. That low revving, short shifting V8 is a Roush Mustang (that was going to win GT, one of TEN times!). Went right to sleep for 4 hours. Got up, hit the John, hit the fence, asked someone why the previous leading Jag was 4th. Blew up 2 hrs earlier.
Would leave 8ish pm to go eat @ Gene's Steak House w of interstate (sadly closed a few yrs ago). One year Roush Nascar driver Mark Martin had stuffed his Mustang into the tires @ w horseshoe. They pulled the car to safety outside the fence. Leaving we met a caravan of golf carts carrying toolboxes, radiator, and bodywork. We learned later that Mark worked on the car for 1.5 hours just to drive it to the garage. (Old days, old rules)
One year at 1100 on a hot Sunday morning P.J. Jones spent an hour (There was a safe zone to left past pit exit.) tearing into his Toyota transaxle to get 1 gear working to drive it to the garage.
We would return from dinner, park outside, and go high in the grandstand over T1. Once there was a long caution just b4 midnite. Security went code7. Learned why you aren't allowed to loiter at the fence(besides crash hazard). Went green b4 security returned. Lead Ferrari 333 came by and shotgunned us with marbles up to 3/8 inch.
Your comment about staff reminded me of first trip in '91. Marines ran the concession stands. Great BBQ; and they let g/f plug in a hair dryer to blow up an air mattress.
End of ramble/back to race...

Anybody have an answer to my Q about the 66 Acura? Got to head out for awhile to visit with my Mom.

She's 94. I've been taking care of her for the last couple of years. Hospital mid-November where she lost mobility; the WRONG rehab facility in December; got her into a private care home nearby just this past Tues. Huge improvement already. Hope to get her back to her real home soon.
