Good race, a predictable winner for me. Lotterer knows his way around Fuji and the Porsche was already strong here last year so they were my pick to win. I'm not sure what happened with Kobayashi and if he thought he had space but they need a miracle to win the drivers title now. Alpine is coming though, they keep getting closer and closer. Even Peugeot had a quiet yet decent race. GT3 I think the driving was kinda up and down in terms of standards. But Fuji did a great job to put on a show!

Lap times of the winner and the battle of the podium finishers. Although the battle was very much not just these three.
That was a good team and race by the winning crew. The most under control. |

Can't complain that there were some amazing and entertaining battles up and down the field, but Quote:
Fully agree on this take. Some of the SCs were absolutely unnecessary, overly long and ruined some of the race for me. While Toyota ultimately bottled it, they had a pretty interesting strategy with the #7 and I would have liked to have seen the outcome of that vs their lack of ultimate pace, but a pointless SC saw that away. That's the way the cookie crumbles I guess. The scene is set for an absolute Dogfight to the finish in Bahrain though. Winner of the race between Ferrari, Toyota and Porsche will take the manufacturers championship. #7 is effectively out of the drivers championship race, although an inversion of Fuji's results can actually see them seal it providing the #8 runs interference and demotes the #50. November can't come fast enough. |

And the drivers. Ironman Bamber, but Melesi and Schumacher got more laps even in a three car team. For very obvious reasons.
Interesting split of driver time in the car for the #15 and #36. |

Is it time for Cadillac to move on from Earl Bamber or is the added pressure of only running two drivers?

Bamber for me is proving himself to either be too aggressive or simply not suited to that type of car. He makes a lot of driving errors and I thought today the way he drove back looked a little unprofessional to be honest. I doubt Jota would touch him with his track record. No shock for me Hanson is being let go too.

Nato stood out as a gold, I think. Hanson probably the slowest, but close to Stevens - they both had long stints at the beginning of the race. The tyre monkeys? |

I thought he’d been pretty good this year.
Today he and Will Stevens looked the slowest. Just. FWIW. |

Great table Adam43. The 6 had the overall race-pace from it's title rivals this race by a good few tenths.

I think Jota are also having to make way for Cadillac drivers anyway, I will admit I have a thing about Hanson he was a very dirty driver for me in LMP2, but yes over the year has not been that way as much as others. Jota simply have not really had any pace for whatever reason.
Wonder why? |

I think it's not a priority for them because they are fully focused on Formula 1 as their "global" championship commitment.
