I'd be surprised if Dunlop, or Michelin, have car specific rubber? One size to meet regs, various compounds for circuit and conditions.
That's it. Or am I missing something else? |

Audi had special Michelin rubber a few years back , with the R8 , something about the sidewall being 1mm differant .

Supposedly Michelin builds tires specifically for each of their big LMP1 partners. I don't know how different they are as I'm sure they share a lot of technology, but yeah. Hindy always makes a big deal about it. I don't know whether Michelin's GT tires are different, but it would not shock me if that is the case. I remember Fehan saying a few weeks back that they were already working with Michelin on tires for the C7. But, yeah, I'd imagine the demands on the tires for a Porsche (for example) are different than they are for a Corvette.

I knew they had 2 LMP1 specs, a while back, diesel, and bis...
Then they just went to the same tyre for everyone. But then pretty much they were the only tyre supplier in P1 back then. |

Sick, sounds almost like the DBR9. My favorite GT3 car so far.

The wing is huge. Wonder if this is a better basis than the V8 GTE car? I guess we'll see soon.

DSC confirms that the GT1 Astons will be allowed a final farewell at Le Mans during the support race. Great news and definitely something to look forward to.

Two support races, one of them is Group C and one of them is a 50-min race for Aston Martin GT1/GT2/GT3/GT4 cars.

I thought a new Aston product line was only a year or two away, but it seems they'll arrive in 2015/16.
I'm wondering if the proposed straight-six engine will be used in current models before that, I think the V12 was used in the old DB7 before the all-new DB9 arrived. http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsAr...llCars/257991/ |

That story is months old. From what I've read the whole partnership was supposed to be based around AML producing Maybach cars for Dailmler. Yesterday's news were that Maybach is to be canned in a year or so.

I seriously expect to be trackside for it!
I wonder just how many of the DBR9 and DBRS9 they'll get! |
