In the video the #6 car is the V8 sounding one and with TS040 rear lights. On the other hand that's what they show in the beginning in detail. Is it TS040 with TS050 bodywork? Or then there is something REALLY different about the exhaust.

Hard to tell from the pics we have seen so far. There is a second element above the splitter with a gap between and it has a wing shape. But it is very thick with a closed round opening ( brake cooling if necessary) and it is not a single wing flap like on the Audi. Toyota run two elements attached to the fender and the air divider under the high nose and it doesn't seem the elements are movable

i know!! that i am a huge toyota fan and im probably over my head..but reading this article i feel like toyota is BSing big time..just the fact tha Sarrazin set the fastest lap of the toyota in the prologue ,, and everyone knows here the Sarrazin is the slowest of all the toyota drivers. and the fact that they ran the Low downforce package for must of the Prologue shows that they might have something for Porsche..
neither Toyota or Audi were pushing on the Prologue,, but i know that Porsche was definitely pushing hard,, they did the same last year at the Prologue... and think about it ,,, it make sense for Porsche to Push hard right of the bat, they want to push Audi-Toyota to show their guns to see where the(new cars) competition stands pace wise.. Toyota team also looks very calm and happy, unlike last year.. i dont have solid proof of why toyota might be the team to beat..but from what i am seeing so far ,,toyota might definitely be the team to beat this year.. that is my observation and opinion.. here is the article.. http://www.motorsport.com/wec/news/t...vidson-682467/ |

well, they seem to be saying that they don't feel like they can match porsche in terms of pace at this time. which kind of confirms the hypothesis that both porsche and toyota ran some true attempts to set a fast time (qualifying-type runs), because otherwise they wouldn't be able to compare to porsche and, as audi didn't do any qualifying runs, they seem to be the hardest to compare to. however, toyota have already gained a lot from last year and their straight line speed might matter a whole lot at le mans. however, we haven't got much clue how fast porsche and audi are in low df configs (if anything, audi's top speed is similar to last year with a high df config at paul ricard and last year they were the fastest at the end of the long straights at le mans - i remember seeing over 350 km/h on their live stream several times and constant 345+ at the end of the first part of the mulsanne straight).

Instead of using one of their lightning fast (Davison,Buemi,Nakajima, or Koba ?.. That's what I was trying to point out on that comment ,,that I think Toyota (Davison saying that they can match Porsche )is playing down their obviously much improve machine .... |

Reading Toyota's pr it doesn't look like outright fast laps mean much, at least to them. I guess they're not concerned about those 1:37's? Of note, the high downforce package was ran on the 2nd day. They still had 10-20kmh over Porsche and Audi on the top end with that package and had the best sector 2 times.

According to Kota Sera blog,
the regeneration energy of the brake is increasing for TS050, so over-cooling of carbon brake is a problem for Toyota. http://serakota.blog.so-net.ne.jp/2016-03-27 |

Hisatake Murata commented about the 1 sec gap from Porsche to the Autosport web.
"If our car is called high down force spec, Porsche 919 must be high-high-high down force spec." http://www.as-web.jp/sports-car/5900 |

Toyota will be greatly encouraged by the performance of the TS050 HYBRID. The car set a succession of fastest sector times during the two days, but then chose not to complete the laps. The intrigue about just how much pace the Japanese marque has with its new car is the talk of the WEC paddock. this is interesting!!!.. |

Is this statement misleading or do those sector times don't get loged (I don't believe it)?
I did the ideal sector times from all the sessions and Toyota is still 0.803 s behind Porsche. Toyota did have the best S2 times due to their LD package, but that doesn't mean anything. |
