It looks like a 3.5l era Group C car, i.e the best sports protoypes to EVER hit the track.

I'll take a pass on those dull as dishwater 60's protoypes, not to mention the monstrosities from the 70's.

Must be a generational thing!

I would take that car in a heart beat. The "Spirit of 76" is a classic historic corvette race car.

JAG, you've just given every V8 lovin' boy a wetdream! (BTW 3.5ltr GrpC were crap, just F1 in drag. Now 6Ltr V8NA or 5.5ltr TTV8 those were the engines of legend!)

It's good-looking, ok... But the windscreen curve just looks wrong when you compare it to Group Cs, GTPs, 3.5s or GT1s. The Peugeot display model had a continuous windscreen that didn't look disrupted to fit the rules. Now there's an ugly angle between the font bonnet and the screen. And the width of the cockpit is still wrong. Just look at the way the Peugeot drivers are seated (very low!) and at how the upper part of the side door has to be decorated/made-up. The Bentleys looked less awkward, and the Group Cs were right...

The LMPs look right to me, with at least no ugly angle slike on today's closed cars. The have eye-pleasing shapes and some of them will be remember (at least by me) as very pretty machines. You might not like high noses but I think they look purpseful; and I'm sure other innovations like double roll-hoops or wings got the same reactions from fans at first.

I was one who thought the double roll hoops looked stupid at first. Now I cant stand to look at the old Lolas and Courages with just one roll hoop.

Something doesn't quite look right with the cockpit and the high nose. The cockpit just seems like some little bubble they stuck on the top, doesn't fit with the rest of the car, more so with the way it joins onto the nose on the Peugeot. They're nearly right but I'm sure with a couple of tweaks the coupe's to come will get better in time.

With the LMP's, I like the looks of them all besides the R10 really, but I happen to think the P900's and P675's looked nicer.

So you don't like this?

The unraced 1992 Mercedes 3.5l car.

For me the 3.5 cars were the first modern era prototypes, with their advanced aero and bubble/plastic type cockpits. The C11 was very nice, but most other cars looked little different to the early 80's Group C cars, which made the 3.5l cars look more like a revolution than eveoltion.

I never liked the concept car, it looked just like that, a concept car, rather than a car that could be raced.

Plus the old 905 as a comparison.

It is a good looking car, except for the industrial grade vacuum cleaner on the nose.

Returning to the subject of Astons....

Report on DSC yesterday of A-M's group test at Ricard- Prodrive (Gulf DBR9 and Vantage GT2), the Charouz Lola, and the Strakka DBR9s stayed on after the LMS test, and were joined by DBR9s from Gigawave and JetAlliance, a pair of GT3 DBRS9s and several GT4 Vantage N24s- there's a very nice group pic in the report....

Gulf DBR9s were driven by Turner, Piccini, Wendlinger, Garcia, joined by Ryan Dalziel, Robbie Kerr and Heinz-Harald Frentzen- suggests the LM lineup this year could be almost totally different from last years...

I heard (I think it was on MWM last week) that David Brabham has signed with prodrive for LeMans and that this pushes Dalziel out of consideration for the seat.
