Yeah, then McDonalds should be a sponsor, the yellow arch might match the Lotus yellow!

Lotus has released the first picture of the T128 monocoque:
source: http://www.lotus-lmp2.com/en/news/15...-underway.html As mentioned earlier, the monocoque complies with the 2014 LMP1 visibility rules. |

They do have a plan to make it an LMP1 right? What about the impending LMP2 rule changes in 2015/2016?

Not into reading? gwyllion made mention of the tub being designed to 2014 LMP1 regs, it'll be a P2 car this year and a P1 in 2014 (possibly P1 and P2).

Meaning it complies doesn't automatically mean they will run it in P1. They might sell it to a third-party who will turn it in to a LMP1. From that point it's a wise decision to make it eligible in 2014.

Lotus's intention was to run it in LMP1 next year IIRC from discussing it in this thread.

Intentions or not, Lotus unfortunatley is one of the Marques where we shouldn't expect anything, other than what we see.
Ei. if we see a Lotus LMP1 accepted into a race, and see the car finished, then i'll believe it. Otherwise, the Lotus capital is too limited to secure a LMP1 project, if things turn bad. (If Peugeot didn't have the capital, then Lotus certainly don't) |

Theres 2 on this year's grid. If they make a name for themselves, I think they'll be in contention with LOLA for customer cars net year.

According to http://www.endurance-info.com/versio...nce-16978.html some of the mechanics are working in Germany to get the second car ready in time for Silverstone.

Was this the first time the car hit the track? I hope they can be on the pace for Silverstone, and if not on the pace at least be reliable.

Silverstone is only in 2 weeks and the rollout was only today. That is probably not enough time to be competitive with a brand new car.
