Will we see more testing for next season? Didn’t see much of it last season.

I would say that the teams do not publicise their out of season testing, but as Sutton in particular stated, Motorbase/NAPA did conduct considerable off-season testing which obviously delivered considerable benefits. |

[QUOTE=Matt_123;4180250]Yh but i meant someone who brings in A LOT of money
Like A LOT A LOT Some drivers control their sponsor packages , some have contracts that don’t require a financial input. So no different to most racing series and actually for aspiring drivers without lots of family money the BTCC is comfortably the best series for selling sponsorship , not fashionable I know but when you talk to young drivers in the paddock as I do every BTCC weekend most realise that asking a sponsor for money for Europe is a hard sell as I know very well. There have been some pretty big crowds at BTCC events this year , next year Toca will I am sure tweak a few things to improve a couple of areas , the championship is moving to less teams but bigger teams ( so has NASCAR) it will improve again next year .. catch up in 2024!! |

Brother-in-law delivers to Croft in a 'red van' - spotted a certain Mr Huff and a Toyota BTCC car there today.
Gates were closed with security. Normally you can just wander in for track days or test days, but that wasn't on the cards. |

Interesting, would be a good boost to the Toyota program if it comes to fruition.

Gates were closed, but opened for the delivery, he drove to the office, dropped mail off, drove back to the gates, which were closed, then opened for him to leave, then closed again when he went.
Nobody stops a postie! Same also happened for one day of the pre-season Excelr8 test, because they were filming with a drone, the circuit isn't allowed to have drones in operation on racec days, or when the public are in. |

And a follow up, when I messaged the in-law back, he pointed out what he meant was Huff was there looking like he'd had a run in the car, but the car was on track with somebody else driving.

Team dynamics have posted a video on TikTok saying “this is the call you’ve been waiting for” I wonder what that call is? ??

Tom Ingram, meanwhile, was 2nd overall in GT4 qualifying. Unfortunately his teammate wasn’t quite as brisk so finished a few laps down. Overall champions were Dan Harper and Darren Leung, both names from the TOCA package in recent years. |

Sheddon was in one of the British GT garages and was interviewed. He talked about really wanting to do Le Mans one day and possibly trying GT racing. Also said he'd only be interested in a package where he could fight for wins and championships

Might be that then you never know! And do you think dynamics are done with Btcc now?

It's an intriguing change that should bring some excitement to Saturdays, interesting to see what further regulation changes are made ahead of the season. |

Six cars on the longer tracks like Snetterton isn't a fantastic spectacle (nor will 12 be really; ten was bad enough with the shootout) but should help the shorter tracks where lap times come in faster and traffic is more of an issue. If this year is anything to go by too, it seems quite likely each top 6 could be pretty much the same drivers every time? Perhaps should have made the first two sessions 15 mins and the top 12 the final one, or Q3 a one lap shootout? But we'll see! Last edited by Evantra; 23 Oct 2023 at 11:00. |

Sounds like a great format to me, I’ve enjoyed the top 10 Q2 this year and this sounds even better.

Do an out-lap, swap tyres front to rear, do another out-lap, lap deleted for track limits - that 10 mins is going to go very quickly. I don't think it will make a huge difference to the grid order, the quick guys will still be quick, but could be interesting. |

Great idea, remember a lot of discussions about BTCC becoming quite stale and now there's some new exciting addition to the race weekend. Sure, not a game changer or any huge difference but I guess this will be exciting to follow and watch.
Not following IndyCar too closely so can't say how it works there but seems it works very well there so can't see any reason not to be great here. |
