Hind sight is wonderful.
But what should we really be laughing at? Maybe Oscars naivety to believe that he could have attempted that and gone unnoticed? or....... Maybe Oscars attempt to have the public believe that an enterprise such as "Science Friction", not even ISO 9001 accredited, let alone AS9100, had been engaged by none less than NASA to develop IP. (It doesnt happen like that). |

Hard to believe this was 14 years ago, and it happened after I became an active member of the forum!

Was the Woomera runway longer than Conrod straight?

Say if it was indeed longer, then who could blame them for having a thrash?

Nah - that was debunked at the time - attempted smokescreen from Mr Wills Snr.
Woomera is 2.3Km long or something like that - more than Conrod. I've just read back through this whole thread just for the hell of it. Quite a fun read after the passage of time. Certainly one of the biggest scandals (if not the biggest) in the game. From memory the penalties were increased by the appeal panel and whilst some legal threats were made, nothing further came from that. Quite interesting to see the names of posters from back then who are no longer part of discussions here (well, not under the same poster names anyway). Bit of a shame that but then it HAS been 14 years! |

And interestingly the new Subaru WRX has a bunch of black plastic addons on the wheel arches and front splitter/rear diffuser... with a hexagonal shape indented into the surface.. to do the very thing Team Dynamik were reported to be testing... increasing cut thru the air...

Lot of water under the bridge since then - not sure that it feels like yesterday but it doesn't feel like 20 years either.
Hasn't been such a significant breach of the rules since (at least that I can recall) and there wasn't one beforehand, so this case remains as the "Everest" of cheating behaviour, at least in Supercars. Made worse I guess by the team throwing around so many mistruths afterwards, try to get injunctions in place etc. Really was very foolhardy. |
