Remember Simona was in the running for a third 888 ride at the end of last year, but Team 18 came along and secured that option for themselves.
Possibly another wasted opportunity there, for both Simona and Team 18. |

Would have killed to see her slot into the Lowndes car but clearly Katie Page's dowry only allows a Kelly Krate budget.

The Lowndes REC was an obligation to keep him in the Triple Eight fold full time.
The team would have needed significant incentive to keep that REC on the books. Whilst SdS is a capable and well-respected steerer, she doesn't have the star power of a Lowndes, a Courtney, or whoever else. Perhaps she might've, way back when... |

Would loved to have seen Sutton involved somehow, sadly sounds like the door is closed. https://www.motorsport.com/v8superca...ivers/4546460/

The last thing WAU needs is drivers new to the category of car.
Better off just keeping Pye |

He did well on Shannons Supercar Showdown back in the day and he's quick, but for me, Sutton has more potential.

Well it seems WAU are being a tad ungrateful for the Mobil 1 sponsorship they received, in lieu of the Mega deal falling over.
Ryan is even going on to say their international partnership should "open doors" for something more. Let's be honest here - the 'international partnership' of WAU hasn't done very much at all for WAU. It's been a dismal failure to say the least, and has not capitalised on anything. Compared to Penske, where they're including Scotty in international fitness challenges, running DJRTP results online in the US, and inspiring their collective teams in the US with what's going on 'downunder'. And so this is the best WAU can do? - put out an underhanded call for sponsorship help, which could jeopardize the perpetual Brock-given legacy they inherited? Maybe they should give the whole thing back to Skaife - wasn't it all legally his in the first place? |

You could also say that RP has the ruthless streak that TW had (to both their detriment when it comes to abiding by rules) DJ walky would perhaps be missing that. |

Tom Walkinshaw and Roger Penske are polar opposites.
TW was ruthless, burned bridges, had companies go broke; and frequently cheated when he was racing. Not many have a nice word to say about him at all. RP is humble, runs profitable enterprises, gives subordinates freedom, doesn't turnover drivers frequently; and shows a great deal of humility. |

Arguably RP has been caught more times and in way bigger ways than Tom was, but you could also say both of them were competitive in series that are and were known for bending the rules.
Roger absolutely thinks nothing of bending the rules if he can get away with it. If he ever got to the point of a tell all book that would be one you couldn't put down. I wonder just what he has gotten away with over the years! |

2020 VASC Silly Season

Id say the biggest factor in that is that it’s one team owner v three. With Penske it’s a matter of let’s just do this. It’s one single owner who might have a lot of fingers in a lot of pies but has put in motion a group over here with one singular focus. To win and to win at all costs. You only have to look at what Penske has done with DJR since he arrived. WAU on the other hand has three owners and those three owners whilst they be successful in their own right just don’t have the same ruthless pursuit of victory that Penske has. Not to mention those three have their own interests in other things to distract them from the Supercars programme. Whilst the three have some money between them it doesn’t look like enough is going into the Supercars programme.. Last edited by rich07; 29 Sep 2019 at 05:01. |

RP has also had company’s go bust, its part of business for any entrepreneur. As for cheating, RP has a notorious reputation for cheating in motorsport in the US. So your points are incorrect. |

Let’s also not pretend that WAU, even with the collective business and financial clout of their owners, have the same resource and piggy bank as a billionaire like RP. If you knew the budget of DJRTP compared to other teams your eyes would water... |

Being in the Porsche family, opens up a lot of options to race wherever she pleases and be competitive in doing so.
Trying to drag a nobbled Nissan up the order can't be as rewarding as it sounds. |
