Only one sleep to go trendsetters. All the latest news? uuummm gossip will hit the shelves again. Look for a pic of the HRT car and FPV cars on the cover.

No the cover story tommorrow will be: "Gurr Wins in Konica Upset," with a photo of Gurr's Commodore at Wakefield Park on the cover.
Or "Bernie talks to Foges about F1 and V8Supercars," with a photo of Bernie on the cover. Or I could be wrong .... pete55, is your newsagent going to let you spend five minutes perusing AA on the stands? |

What I reckon would be good in the magazine would be a few chats to drivers about their past. For example, Brighty on his American days, Weel on his off roading, and Radisich with his English days and what they all went through. I would find some of the past info quite a good read, as most drivers in the series have some pretty interesting stories to tell. A bit like some of the F1 magazines do, so you get to know more about the person. A bit more human interest I suppose. They might already be in some mags but I havent come across them yet.

The questiuon should be - 'Does your newsagent still display AA'?
Our local one doesn't put it out until Thursday these days - his reasoning - why bother, doesn't start selling until then and only takes up shelf space from mags that are selling |

Simon, what about starting the ball rolling and talk about your English F3 days?
Why wait for AA, you can tell us on Ten Tenths ... |

I think AA is improving, last issue wasn't too bad. Probably the best so far in the new format.
More coverage of State Championship motorsport is needed, but then we need to promote ourselves better at State Level so we are able to offer a product that is attractive to the general public and readers of AA. State Level motorsport is the best kept secret in town, the racing is often fantastic and entertaining, but no one knows about it!! Anyway there was some good articles on the new Noske/Besnard deal as well as the release of the new 888 livery. |

I'm sure you have some contacts in the business Simon. Mark Noske should be able to tell us about his time in the States too.

Retrospective stuff would be a fantastic idea.
Simon, you are right about what the F1 mags do - I especially liked the Gil DeFerran story in Autosport a month or so back, and F1 Racing usually dedicate more space to this stuff over the break, when their back section is without race reports. F1 mag was also good for this - until Bernie pulled the pin (dammit). But it would be hard for the guys to simply sprook about what they did. I think questions/prompts would be needed? |

I agree Falcon that more state cocerage is needed, more coverage of Australian motorsport is needed urgently. What AA is publishing is no more than an Avesco or Bernie advertsiment Simon I liked the idea more driver interviews as in Autosport or F1 Racing, which are very indepth and enjoyable to read. Brighty and those guys would be good but also non taxi guys also eg Grant Hackett |

Would that be Peter Hackett?
Over the years we have had enough Mark Skaife, Craig Lowndes, Glenn Seton etc interviews to last a life time. Lets have some of the lesser lights given a 'grilling'. |

Why would you want AA and MNews to do more 'retro' stories when they are 'news based' publications with (what is supposed to be) 'up-to-date' information?
I'm not saying they shouldn't do them now and then, but shouldn't the old sort of stuff be left to Chevron's magazines (MRA & AMC)? |

Are Auto Action giving us sales figure comparisons over the last few years. If so how do they compare. ( Foges stated they were up 3.9%) If they are up where are the increased sales? Maybe they are in the country areas where TV coverage is not good.
GTR, you might know a bit more about this. |

I think AA has improved over the last couple of issues. Today a reasonable coverage of the Formula Ford Round at WP and last week two F4000 stories. A bit disappointed with the calendar in todays issue though ,no FF, F3 or F4000 schedule?

Have to say that seeing as the event goes through the GP Office and has been held for I don;t know how many years now (I've been involved in it for at least 6 years) - and it IS a relatively big event....
But AA is AA is AA is AA..... |

Got to say the MN this week is a really good issue. Plenty of good reading.
