Amazingly, it's still on the market. I saw it running at a club meet a little while ago, it looks great and ran well. If I had the money, it would be mine already.

I've heard that Steve Voight still has it and i've heard that it recently sold, not sure which is correct. Car is in excellent condition, appears to be correct spec., but needs period signage.

I am still looking for a Group C/A car to join the heritage touring car field for the 2014 season - where is the best place to look? I check My105 regularly but is there another source I should be looking to track down a competitive car?
Thanks in advance mike |

Your best bet for a GrA car at least will probably be Europe but then there will be the logistics and all that?

What sort of car are you after, any preference? Do you particularly want one with Australian history? Maybe try http://www.racecarsdirect.com/ |

Disregarding budget, Bowdens usually have a car or two for sale, 2 Sierras and an A9X on there at the moment. http://www.ecurieinvestments.com.au/inventory/race
The Auto Action classifieds sometimes have cars not listed on My105. I think you'll find the ex-Gibson/Grant HR31 in the current issue. |

Wow - you gentlemen certainly know how to surprise me with a selection like that in less than 24 hours! Just goes to show they were out there somewhere - I just had to connect to the right people. Thank you.
My thinking was: - Group C Commodore or Falcon preferred. I love the Torana but not convinced they are really competitive in class - correct me if you think I am wrong, plus you are paying a big investment premium at the same time since they are so desirable by collectors. I have been following the Bowden's one for a while but suspect it will go for too high a price. - I would seriously consider a VK/VL Commodore but apart from Walkinshaw version they don't seem to be as competitive in class. Not into Walkinshaws at all - I need to like looking at my cars! - I like the idea of Skylines and particularly Sierras but very wary of the seeming fragility they can display plus the computer techie knowledge I would need to develop and the cost to maintain all that to keep a working package. Really I don't know enough to evaluate them properly whereas I know a good v8 and how to rebuild one. Let the comments begin - sorry in advance for taking this thread off topic. Cheers mike |

He had raced in the Ford Laser series, then built up the XJS,via email he said he was the Clinton, that raced a Laser, then asked him about the XJS and never replied to me. Be a good thing to own and race,I'm not wanting to race again....but nice to see another XJS in the system. |

Got a reply that the "car is still around but the owner is not interested in selling it". I don't actually know if you were interested in buying but if you are you'll be unable to apparently.
Cheers David. |

The Sizzler R31 GTS-R would be one of the quickest currently available, and being a skyline the cost to run would be way less than a sierra.. Group C commodores dont seem to be at the pace of a good group A VK or VL tbh...

Mike Burgmann rolled one of them at Oran Park in 1983 at the ATCC round which wrote it off, so he bought the other one. The article mentioned that the other car was advertised for sale in the mid-90s, but then the trail went cold |
