Right now, if both cars can stop with 45 minutes to go and make it to the end, that should be the golden number. But that depends on what they want to do with strategy. Porsche seem content to run Bernhard until he's about out of fuel.

What I'm trying to figure out is how long the Porsche #1 needs to stay out. Because Lotterer is only going to close the gap at this rate for as long as the Porsche stays out before the final stop. Is it a 45 minute stint? |

Timo has been running near-perfect 1:30 laps, he's running to a pace.
But that means if Lotterer can keep cutting 2-3s per lap he will be in range at the stops. |

Slow lap, but Lotterer still gained nearly a second.

And if the Porsche has to pit before 45-50 minutes or so, they'll need a splash. I'm not sure if the Audi will also need a splash depending on pit stop timing.

But there is no point letting the Audi catch them at this rate. They are effectively on the same pit cycle.

Amazing how #6 now is doing the same speed as #7 while earlier it was nowhere. Is it the drop in temperatures that does something?

Lotterer took over 4 seconds out last time.
Sad thing is that if the #8 didn't have the wheel bearing/brake problems and the spin, it'd probably be up there right now, too. |

If Timo pulls this off, it will put even Westbrook/Briscoe's Laguna Seca stints to shame. It will be a 55 minute stint!

Lotterer had to have spun. Now he's almost 50 seconds behind.

Lotterer pits.
It's over (for real this time). Sarrazin in second though, what a result that would be. |

Well it just goes to show just how on the limit Andre was...I mean he was running full dry pace 1:26s on a track that you can hardly call dry.
