How can you be so sure? Tony didn't even post the picture, it was an unofficial Twitter feed picture which Tony happened to share.

Not reading anything into this, I reckon we are more likely to see Tony in a 2nd Rotek if it happens. Not even sure TeamHARD would even use the Insignia if they had the chance to enter again, it was only ever a stop gap for the VW's which was Tony's baby, just saying what the picture is

Looks like we'll be seeing Jack Goff back next year (no mention of team but presumably with BMR). Good news imo, a top young driver who I really fancy to get his first win next season.

Highlite UK says he's back with BMR. First Smith, now Goff, BMR are going places...

Nice to see Belcher squash those rumours that his TBL was up for grabs... just a shame he had to address the baseless speculation in the first place!

One thing we can be sure of is not to underestimate Mr Gilham, hes usually pretty good at getting stories brewing over the off season.

I think he will be back driving in either a Toyota (plenty of them !)or something completely new but built from a current NGTC car that is now outdated.
He must have a few quid from his team sale to BMR,

I think it would be good to see him back, love him or hate him , he brought 4 NGtc cars to the grid in 2013 and he is one of those that led the way with team videos etc as wild as they were sometimes .

BMR saved the team from bankruptcy, so there's no money to spend.

A very interesting article, very nice to hear that there was heavy demand for TBLs even before the end of the season. Also, I'd hesitate a guess at Newsham maybe even TOC to fit the driving profile they are after.

Newsham, TOC, or maybe Rydell or Huff will decide that they need to get in on the act, however they do it.

Where's Dan Eaves these days? Or Gareth Howell? Maybe Luke Hines will get a drive in another Toyota. Or Wrathall can return.

All, of course, pure speculation, because this afternoon has been very boring for me...

I suspect they are talking about Newsham. He is Belcher's mentor after all.

Thats true, hence the revolving door to the workshops that saw Team HARD field no less than 11 drivers under different banners and branding, leading to the introduction of the TBL in the first place. If Warren hadn't bought the operation lock-stock, it would have folded spectacularly.

Newsham - by the sounds of it, wants to stay with Amd
TOC - good shout, unless he wants to stay in GTs?
Rydell - has a contract with Nika
Huff - has a contract with LADA

Eaves & Howell are both good drivers who never got a chance to show their full potential. I haven't heard of them doing anything for a few years now.

Wrathall's still inside, surely?

But like you said, just speculation. I'd definitely love to see a better driver than Belcher in the car though.

Apparently he ruled out a return to the BTCC in a recent interview - has discussed it a few times on Twitter stating that he stopped enjoying the series and although he hasn't been visible in mainstream racing of late, has been winning events like the 24hrs of Barcelona and being very involved in promotional and training endeavours, so I think a return to the BTCC would be a step back for him.

He has been in British GT. Certainly a mainstream national racing series currently, only second to BTCC in my view!

Worth bearing in mind that Jeff Smith has also been racing in that series in 2014 with Motorbase.

Smith was solid, and both said they had 'unfinished business' with touring cars...

Last time I remember Eaves racing was the disapointing Eco Warrior 7th Heaven SEAT entry thingy that lasted all of 3 rounds. He was out driven by Adam Jones (whatever happened to him) and the team folded & sold the cars (later raced by Shedden & Glew, I think). Think he was out of racing to long, same would go for Howell, great potental never realised.

Where's Stephen Jelley these days?

I know I'm spamming BTCC race winners names into these threads but this thread is the silly season...

Jelley's a GT racer these days, he's racing in Blancpain this year (the last couple of years too), and has done British GT/Porsche Carrera Cup between BTCC and BES.

Didn't realise he's still in Blancpain! Not bad for Turks inferior! Still, I rated him as a driver and he seemed popular with the BTCC crowd, or at least the Thruxton crowd in 2011 when he was in the PCC...

...so that's Nash, Kane, Jelley and Turner who are all ex BTCC drivers in Blancpain iirc...

Jelly tested for Motorbase in the Focus in one of the off seasons (think it was before 2013 season) so he was obviously looking at a possible return or sampling FWD. Along with Hines, Kelly's a race winner with a bit of £££ behind them so could fit the bill.

Problem is..... being a race winner in an S2000 != being a race winner in NGTC car.

Look at Menu and Gio. Both struggled this season....

The grid for race 2 at each event will be set in the order of the fastest lap times achieved in race 1. If during race 1 a driver changes one or more tyres of the same type then any quicker lap time (if achieved) after that tyre change will be discounted.
Not sure if im a fan of this. It could lead to some interesting grids though.
