He certainly had a better plan than the organisers of the TCR UK series, but it just seems there isn’t enough demand out there

Doesn't help that all cars are running at TCRUK branding, and that there's a TCR car in the mix that isn't up to date on homologation.

As Coates car carries SEAT Badges rather then CUPRA badges it not eligible for TCR. Last edited by Petoli; 23 Jun 2019 at 18:13. |

https://www.tsl-timing.com/event/192505/session/rc1tcr the whole thing is a mess. and for them to call it a ‘tcr championship’ with only four cars is a complete embarrassment |

Thats what i have heard, the car does carry a SEAT badge and SEATs are no longer homolagated although perhaps some other aspect of the car means its not proper TCR Spec Well the WSC allow them the rights to call it a TCR championship, Perhaps the blame lies with them. |

The car's owner hasn't paid this year's homologation fee.

To make matters worse, TCR UK posted on their social media on Sun congratulating Max Coates on his first TCR UK win, only to have to post a correction/clarification when people asked why he showed in the TCT class in the results. If their own media team don't understand whats going on then is it any surprise that spectators are confused. |

Could it be that the car has the endurance kit on it? as I think I recall the commentators or I read on Touring Car Times that the car is used in Britcar.

So in summary 24 hours after he race. We know who crossed the line first, but we don't know what they were driving, what they won, or why ... Cracking little series this

I was at Croft yesterday to watch the 34 cars in the BMW Compact Cup and the 20 or so in the combined Alfa Romeo and Porsche races.......So had a brief look at the Headline Series - the 7 (count 'em) cars in the TCR UK with Dunlop Touring Car Trophy qualifying.......4 TCR and 3 TCT......what an embarassment
Interestingly I note from todays results of their first race that Richard Woods' Cupra has changed overnight from TCT to TCR UK........he didn't finish, thou, so it didn't matter. 5 finishers for the headline act...... |
