Shank won't go to wec,and I'm sure pew has more invested in the ligier than shank.at least that's the vibe I got talking to the mechanics at laguna.
By the way that ligier is gorgeous in those colors and the car itself,I really wish esm would of been there too.i couldn't help but think all weekend how fast would it be if it had Dp ecoboost/chevy power. |

The 'future DP' will be based on the 4 cf chassis that will be the base of ALL P-2/P cars. In TUSC they will be allowed to be branded by a Mfg by specific body work and engines, but the underpinnings will be a cf P-2 tub/chassis.

It would be, but that’s not realistic. You might attract some of the P1 teams to Daytona and Sebring, but beyond that, in the WEC era, it’s just not going to happen. Running even a single factory P1 car in an entire TUSC season (plus maybe a second car for the big two races) is just too expense (probably somewhere in the $40 million to $75 million range a year) for the return it generates.

HORNDAWG, spot on: in the light of diverging P2 implementations, calling the future US-P2 version (branded bodywork, multiple engines, pro drivers) of the LMP a "DP" makes a lot of sense to me. Now if we only knew that the IMSA (or, in this case, the bentley) guys are using the term with the same intent...
