"... or the good old CTRL - ALT - DELETE - the all time solution?"
Gotta love John Hindhaugh. [EDIT] Just noticed, the orange 458 has an AF Corse door lol. Last edited by Mitchi_S; 4 May 2013 at 18:26. |

Congrats to Audi and a huge day for AF Corse!
Looks like Toyota still has work to do, especially reliability-wise. Porsche seem done in GTE-Pro. Can't wait for Le Mans! |

The pace is there for Porsche, they just need to work on the tire consistency over a stint and keeping as far away from Bruni as possible.

I am sure that TF110 will return when the timing data is online. And then he will find some numbers (e.g., top speed, sector time, stint length, ...) to argue that the 2013 TS030 is still the better car

I'm not optimistic for Le Mans. Bad move for Porsche to use that old engine instead on the new DFI... |

Cracking race although it would have been nice to the final lap GTE Pro battle between the 458 and Aston but hey ho. Really enjoyed the scrap between the 7 Toyota and the Audi. Although I prefer Toyota to Audi at this rate I can only see an Audi win at LM although the 2013 TS030 seemed evenly matched to the 2013 R18 in terms of speed, shame the rear brakes lunched themselves.

Did Motors TV show the last lap GTE Pro battle for second, the online stream showed the winning Audi going the wrong way down pit lane.

Or, more likely than not, say it isn't worth talking about and tell us to take our vendetta somewhere else...

Yes, I know this. But Porsche in the last years has adopted a suicide behaviour!
997 GT3 RSR debuted with a provisional gearbox that made the car uncompetitive or not fully so, for the first two seasons. Now they've debuted with 991 with the old engine, and for all the season they will run with this handicap! In this way, they've lost a lot of customer team they had with 996, and all of them (or a large part of them) has passed to Ferrari. 458 Italia was competitive since its first season, and since its first race it did a great job. The same was for 430. So I ask to myself why Porsche has always, or quite so, a problematic debut season with its RSR. Why do they work in that way? I don't think is the best way to capture customer teams! At the end Porsche will be like Corvette: only two works car, only in Le Mans and WEC. Porsche has restricted car first season at the WEC and Le Mans 24 Hours, while Ferrari has launched its cars in all the championships it was possible to race in! Since the first season! If that's the politic Porsche management they'll adopt for P1 program, I would give them a simple advice: stay at home! Or, if you really wanna race some cars, do it in Porsche Supercup. There, you can always find a winning Porsche! I'm tired about this way to manage their racing programs. Chapeau to Ferrari for this great race. |

I'm really quite surprised that Ferrari won, in GTE, that is. Aston Martin really showed the pace in qualifying and were very quick throughout the race. A new BoP, perhaps?

I was about to say "penalties", but then checked the timing data and saw that the 51 got two drive-through penalties while the 98 got a single one.

I agree with you Dario about the lack of successful Porsche debuts.
I think a contributing factor (and correct me if I'm wrong) is the time period between the debut of the road car and the race car. Both the 430 and 458 street cars debuted about a year before the race versions. However, the 997 and 991 GT3s have debuted at the same time as the race car. I don't know if this has affected the 911's debuts but it could be a reason. |

2:01.382 is the ideal lap of the toyotas, for the no7. interesting that both the low downforce audi and the low downforce toyota had the same exact top speed, 308.6 km/h. |

Yes, same top speed, but a big difference of more than 1 second in sector 2, which is the twisty part of the track: 54.661 for Audi #3 vs 55.739 for Toyota #7.
