I don’t recall Morris being dropped. He withdrew from the drive post 9/11 as he had an ETCC round a week after (or before) the V8Supercar 1000 so didn’t want to risk it.

Remember the 2001 V8Supercar 1000 happened less than a month after 9/11

Daisy - I have just found that Daisy was last used by Ben McCashney in the 2010 Development Series run by his own team. Ad on My105 has since expired, car wherabouts known.

I peronsally feel like sometimes Morris gets thrown under the bus a bit. I think guys like Dumbrell should have known a lot better and with the amount of crashes that guy was involved in at that time, I don't think it's entirely fair to always point the finger at Morris.

I'm just wondering, does nobody make reproduction early AU Falcon front splitters and reproduction BA Falcon V8 Supercar bodykits?

You seem to see a lot of historic AUs in 1999 liveries but with the later front splitters, and (IMO worse) a lot of historic BA Falcon liveried-cars with BF bodywork, like this Prodrive example:



It's in the Prodrive collection as the 2004 car, but it clearly has a 2007 BF body kit which is not correct?

I appreciate it wouldn't be a roaring trade, but you'd think one of the composite shops associated with the sport would produce the correct body kits (if they still have the moulds, or if somebody still has the moulds) so these historic cars could be more accurate?

Repliglass are probably one of the few groups that do a really good job with replica supercar kits. I popped in and had a chat with the guys there (looking for a kit myself for a VZ supercar), and they said that a lot of the touring car masters guys are using their kits (he mentioned John Bowe specifically). They're all fibreglass with aluminum inserts where needed for extra strength (like the rear wing), but they come with diffusers and the like so it'll do for me. Most of the replica shops had their moulds done off of the genuine supercar kits so they're the correct size and dimensions etc, but it seems they've avoided doing the early AU front bumper with the shark fin in the middle - remember it was very fragile back in 99 so it makes sense for everyone to be doing kits of the Tega bumper instead (although it does unfortunately mean it's quite difficult to get your hands on a genuine 99 spec from bumper for a restoration. Made even more difficult by the fact that all AUs post mid 2000 ran the Tega/Blueprint bumber so I suspect that there are very few moulds left around.)

As for the BF bodykit on a BA, I'm not a Ford fan so I don't know the difference between the two (excpet the wider front quater panels on the BF), but after having a bit of a look at replica kit sites they tend to lump the BA/BF bodykit together, maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can chime in here and let me know what the differences are...either way Repliglass do have a kit for a BA/BF.

I think your best bet for getting a genuine kit would be to contact a team directly and see what they have lying around for you - I know the Egglestons have a lot of body kit parts listed for sale on their site, although they are more Holden biased. Your other option is to join a motorsport sale group on facebook and see what's for sale there and piece a kit together.

Agree - plus they were replaced almost immediately and a better design used - don't think that TEGA even had a sample of that original monstrosity.

In response to the question from V8F, TEGA used to hold a "control" version of each front splitter (along with other key sections of bodywork). Likely that the AU versions are no longer held, but they might be - Supercars might be a source to at least get hold of one to take a mould from.

This car may have turned up, but it is going to be hard to prove. It is a sandblasted shell, and it has no plates and no chassis number. I'm pretty sure it at least had a BODY plate back in the day, but these are easily removed and lost. This car was walked down the production line by Bob in late September 1975 and was never going to be a road car, so this may explain the lack of a chassis number, however I always thought it was stamped before the car was even a body in white.
There aren't many photos of it around as Bob used the ex B&D Autos car after Sandown 1976.

How much of it is Bob Janes Monza? The gearbox and final drive? Be more accurate to advertise it as the Bryan Thompson Supra. Looks like one of Larry Perkins's Commodores in the background, but I can't find it on their website.
I see the PMM Big Kev Commodore is being rebuilt too. That car will be nothing more than an original firewall.

Probably depends on the age of the beholder. That Monza was hugely iconic back in the day, particularly racing against the 956s etc. at Sandown in the World Endurance Championship round & of course Janey himself finishing his driving career in it.

Would be much harder to get the car back to the Monza spec though, so seems more likely to remain a Supra, which as you say has its own special history.
