Nothing wrong with a Pro-Am Class A combination is there? Grove is funding the car and operation - both Bamber and McLaughin have proven to be quite loyal and keen on racing with Grove. |

Cant see McLaughin driving a Walkinshaw Porsche and Penske aren't involved in the race so Grove is a likely outcome. Bamber with an impending LMP1 drive now with the movement of Dumas and Lieb may not feature in the 12 hour unfortunately. Ben Barker could be an option following from hiis 2014 and 2015 outings. |

LA based Competition Motorsports has announced the final piece of the puzzle as they attempt to win their first Bathurst 12 hour title in February 2017.
German Marc Lieb has been confirmed as the third driver for the team, joining accomplished drivers David Calvert-Jones and Patrick Long in the Pro/AM class of the event. http://www.bathurst12hour.com.au/new...turn-bathurst/ |

That looks like a pretty serious outfit!
I do like that Ice Break livery too - good to see an uncommon colour out there IMO |

Provisional Entry List Announced
http://www.speedcafe.com/2016/12/07/...st-released-2/ Interestingly Tekno racing aren't represented on the list (unless my eyes have deceived me) but McLaren GT do have an entry. |

HTP'S entry as announced on their website.
(translated) HTP Motorsport considers the winter break between the 2016 and 2017 season very short. Preparations for the next two major races are taking place and the vehicles and the equipment goes on the trip to Dubai and Bathurst. In Australia at the 12 hours of Bathurst from 3-5 February 2017, Mathias Lauda, Paul Dana Lana & Pedro Lamy take the steering wheel for HTP Motorsport. |

The high number of safety cars in this race has always been a let down though. I feel 2017 is no different. Would be nice if the field was just the 35 GT3 cars. But we'll see how it goes.
Has the race organizers done anything to address this leading to the 2017 race yet? |

Precisely. Any crash that happens at the top of the Mountain has to be handled under SC given how tight, narrow, twisting and fast that section is. You really have to walk through that section to appreciate how little space there is and how little you can see what's even 2 corners ahead. And no, there isn't space to extend run-offs there. 80% of the walls through that section have either a hill or a steep drop behind them.

The Spa24 is GT3 only and how does that work for avoiding Safety Cars?
This event is a class race - full stop. I would like to see the event provide VSC or Code60 arrangement to limit the amount of full course cautions initiated. Obviously it would eradicate all of them due to the nature of the track but atleast it prevent some. Pheonix missing is odd and a concern - fingers crossed for a late addition. |
