So, was this the new car, an interim car, or the 2014-spec car ?

All of the above and none at the same time. Because you can never really tell with CK's business model.

Kolles doesn't do PR when you consider how many projects he's been forced out of or got run into the ground, one wonders where he gets the money and what not for the stuff he does.
Well, the guy's a dentist, and I'm guessing that's where he's gotten pliers big enough to pull money and resources from out of his... |

Don´t get me wrong… i want them to do well.
they are still far away from the 1:44.8 from Rebellion last year at the prologue… i know that time was made with the old LOLA… but this new cars should be faster. Nowadays, it seems they are running with so much wing… and regarding that they top 310 km/h at the prologue. ByKolles probably won´t have the money to do a proper aero development… so they must work on reability and finish some races… best of luck for them |

Predicting the future, where they're banned from P2 by the organisers, it seems.
Good to have them along - I was more cynical about this project than any other in the past, but they've done so much to prove me wrong I'm impressed by their perseverance. All credit to Kolles, he rarely puts together a competitive programme but his entries, however he manages them, have really added diversity to grids whenever they've showed up, and in days when the organisers are trying to kill that diversity I'm all for it. Maybe I'll even believe Ian Dawson next time! |

i am in total agreement, privateers are vital to sportscar racing and we need them to try and establish themselves in the LMP1 class, they deserve our support and i wish both Rebellion and Kolles have a good run this season

ByKolles have comfirmed that they used their test car at Paul Ricard and not the final race version.

According to motorsport-total.com ByKolles will use a new engine mapping and electronic adjustments for Silverstone.
The "new" car with the Xtrac gearbox, new rear suspension and a new bodywork will first appear at Spa |

Once again, applauds for what they are trying to do and breath life into LMP1 privateer - but that was fiasco of a weekend was it? When Larbre Comp turned up to Paul Ricard in 2010 and had literally no-one in their class (and it was a proper class too, not some sub category), they were slow and poor - but they dragged that Saleen to the finish and got full points. Which was their only objective, same as for Kolles now. So CLM was slow as well, absolutely no visible advancements in their LMP2 esque performance since last year despite the 'upgrades', but they didn't finish either. The only real advantage against the Rebellions full championship wise was to finish in these first two events to make a small head gap before they showed up, but they didn't make it in the first round and it doesn't look particularly great for the second one either. Not to even mention how they'll look against the other cars on tracks.
Can it realistically be anything else than DNF at Le Mans? The question is, at which point during the race. |

I also have a huge respect for the team but the performance was more than disapointing. Christian Klien claimed that the car has less downforce than a LMP2 car despite the more rear wing and the large gurney flap. I have also heard that they did not get the car balanced. If they add more load at the rear the car has massive understeer, if they add load to the front the rear is on the loose. Have also had some discussion with an engineer which has seen the car at Silverstone. He told me the car is bouncing to much and cannot get aggressively over the curbs. So he think they have suspension problems and maybe a flexing issue. As I don't get any answer I still don't know if it is already the reworked car. Seems like the team lacks some engineering expercience. What I don't understand why they don't engage a freelance engineer like Sergio Rinland, Peter Elleray or Wiet Huidekoper or so on. Of course these guys are not cheap but they all can bring the car on a more competitive level and this is finally maybe cheaper and more successful |

Good point about the engineers.
Is the team much different from the P2 "Lotus" days? Can't tell with this business. |

The failure at the end was a shame and as usual the team hasn't said what caused it, i wish the team could be more open |
