Autosport are confirming that Clos is staying on another year. Shame.

I'm at the risk of sounding like a stuck record, but again, I hope RE keep the same livery. Still have no idea what "Fat Burner" was though.

Any news if GP2 will use the new F1 point system or than they will stick with the current one? And if they switch, what will happen with the reversed grid?

well, we find out a few days before the Spainsih GP about that. so far we know a few other championships are using that new F1 points so i am guessing yes, we will see the same points in the GP2 Main this year

GP3 is set to use the same points and reverse grid systems as GP2 does:

According to Martin Haven, tomorrows GP2 race will be the last official GP2 outing of the original car, it seems logical, seeing as they've done 3 main series and are just finishing their third Asia series now, but does anyone have an official or good source for this info?
It'll be very sad to see the last of the old girls tomorrow morning, those chassis have produced a lot of good racing in their time... |

I agree, the Dallara GP2/05 produced much closer racing than its successor. I've not heard anything official on that subject either, though I always assumed the GP2/08 would be retired after the 2010 main series and then pensioned off to 'Asia'. Of course, that's assuming GP2 Asia returns, as rumours have long been flying around that it might not, and the inclusion of Yas Marina in the main series seems to support that possibility.
Anyway, I'll certainly miss the GP2/05. I wonder what will happen to the cars. |

Giacomo Ricci has impressed me all winter - hope he translates this into a good summer GP2 season.

Seems like DAMS is not really the team were to be... not showing real pace over the winter and Piscopo (Pole Seater in Race 2 yesterday) lost a wheel at the pit exit... all my best wishes to D'ambrosio to win the title in main serie in 2010 with Dams... |

bianchi took half a season to get up to speed in the euroseries a couple of years ago so if you look at his performances in that context it's pretty standard. not ideal but standard.

a lot of big guns of the main series seem to just use the Asia series as a practice

My wish is that the GP2/05 could constitute a SouthAmerican series... could be great entertainment. But it shoulnd't be "Brazilian only" as is SudamF3. It needs some Argentinian drivers into it.

Would be good indeed but i think at first South America has to sort-out a proper F3 championship. If i remember well, last year F3 sudam organisers got the backing of "Banco Real" to purchase 20 brand new Dallara F308, at the end "only" half of them have been used for racing purpose. At the beginning GP2 Asia was created to train drivers and teams from "emergent countries", at the end of the story ,organizers had to accept who ever had the budget to run this serie, leaving on the side the first aim of this championship. I think as it was rumoured in the past it would be much more cost effective for everybody to stay in Europe and create a "Winter GP2 series" in southern Europe, even if sometime it is also snowing in south of spain. |
